Hi I am looking for my next Camino and like the look of this one starting in Seville. I am a solitary individual and comfortable with my own company. My last one was the camino Madrid which was very peaceful. My question is how many walk this route and would I be able to find my own space?
On my previous Camino's I have obtained my passport before arriving in Spain. However this time when walking the Primitivo I was thinking of getting my passport from Oviedo Cathedral. Can anybody confirm that you can definitely get one at the cathedral as I would hate to not have one as I need...
I have booked a private room with shared bathroom at Hostal La Casa de La Plaza through booking.com for 35 euro on the 11th April. Very close to start of Camino Madrid. Worth a look.
Well flights are booked for the 11th April and start from Madrid on the 12th. Lets see how it goes with the accommodation or lack of. My third camino after Frances and Portuguese. Not sure how many fellow walkers I will see.
Walking this Camino in April 2023 and am checking out the availability of Albergues. Struggling to find up to date information on the one in Santa Maria la Real Nieva or any other alternatives.
Leaving Lisbon on Wednesday and will be taking my Credential for signing and completing in Santiago. Did I see somewhere that you now have to book in on line and receive a number and time at the Santiago office to get your Credential completed. If so does anybody have a link to the site to...
Im flying out in the morning to Lisbon with Ryanair and went with a check in bag. I can then put all the things like knife and fork and liquids in the there and not have to worry. I know its a few extra bob but its worth it to me to fly stress free.
In reply to my own question I have just noticed the Altus has a full zip top to bottom whereas my old one didn't. This must make it easier to put on and off.
Is there video out there or advice on how to put a poncho on and more importantly talking it off when on your own? I had a another make and really struggled with this.
I have just noticed that the Camino actually starts at the Church of Santiago in Lisbon and not the Cathedral. How many people start at the church as opposed to the cathedral? Starting on the 15 March and want to get it right.
See lots of posts about walking through urban environments and how some try to avoid this. Personaly I enjoy them as well as being out in the wild. Its interesting to see the architecture, wall murals and the way different people live. Starting the Portuguese from Lisbon mid March and relishing...
My normal walking day is 20 miles (32 kilometres) but I have walked a couple of times 30 miles (48 kilometres). Its a long day but when you are in the rhythm its fine. I know its not everybody's cup of tea but I just love the challenge. Oh and I am 70 on my next birthday!
I won't answer finger swelling because several people have commented on this. However I use them as they help your balance going up and down hill and also if used correctly (not swung about like you are conducting an orchestra) they take a percentage wear of your legs and knees. This may only be...
