I am so very sorry for your loss and the way you gracefully let us know you hear us, questions, concerns in this community way. I send you an embrace in the loss of your husband, your fellow pilgrim. I know you will find pilgrims here who will gladly complete with you when you are ready. Much...
Annie, I think you have helped me on my Camino paths and I am thankful for that. Whatever you do, even the vent, even this is important. I was working at my local food cooperative tonight, and a four digit (two of them in fact) had issues with their accounts and anger - 4 digit means they have...
Annie, thank you for sharing the ups and the exhausting times and am hoping you find or are found by something/one uplifting or uplift someone else. Things don't stay the same!
My son had his iphone and I, the ipad. I found myself saying far too often.....can I use your phone to ....etc... I did get some great scenes with the ipad, and some terrific bursts, and it was great for going to a library and reading about where we were changing our minds about destinations...
We brought our shells of no special category from Long Beach Island, NJ, and fastened them to our backpack to remind us of home as we started our short two-week walk. We brought three - we were only two walking, but thought often of our third at home. Funny that. Then, for Christmas, I did...
Thank you so much for your quick reply! I am coming to Madrid to look at high schools for our language immersion students here in Brooklyn, and will hope to walk a just a piece of the Camino, Cercedilla to Segovia on a February weekend, if the weather is temporate. I know that sounds nuts...
Ditto the shoe comment rang out for me too... Break them in for months before you go and are you sure you do not want your own? Hiking in sandals, would not count on for me...loved the comfort of boots....Flip flops for shower and rest at night I would... I loved hiking dress and leggings...
All! Thank you so much. This is very helpful. I may give up the Sat/ Sun friend visits in Madrid and museums and spread two days quiet, slushy, and an albergue quiet over Sat and Sunday and keep the work to the workweek! I will fill you in...this was a late addition to this trip and so I am...
Hi All, I know it sounds a bit odd, but I have school planning for my 13 year old and his school, and coming to Madrid next month and I thought, hmmm, would it be nice to walk a day of the Camino Madrid - a day of quiet reflection? I would love to hear suggestions on this. I know it sounds...
Hmmm, wondering how many days I was able to go without checking the Forum since last week was holidays, had a cold, and kid off from school so more kids in and around the house. It was a least 3 or 4, and I was thinking how well I was doing without a fix! I had been so happy that the Forum had...
Thank you for posting. Just last night I said to our 13 year old son as he was struggling with homework, "I wonder what Santiago looks like at this time of year..." And tonight I see this! Thanks! The Holy Door is not holiday I know, but it made me think of this!
I shared this on my FB page and will share with Brooklyn parish here. Good friend is a Paulist who might really enjoy this. And then, I know a chunk of Norbertines..... Thank you! Tree
