I've looked up the train numbers that Falcon provided and they came up on that search, it's just when I search from destination it gives me all sorts of results using the exact same search each time (I tried 20 times in a row without changing any options and got different results coming...
I'm not sure what is happening...I searched for this weekend (I've already checked every day this month as I said before so I wasn't expecting anything) and now I can see the overnight train, but no other options. Everything else still says I need to break the journey up.
Maybe I'll just try...
Hrm, very strange. I had no problem bringing up the train from Paris to Bayonne and some of the other trips I was looking at, it's just this one on both sites that I can't get.
Did you break up the journey or should it go straight through? The website suggested that I needed to break it up as...
I've been going crazy over the last two days checking Rail Europe, Renfe, the forums and every other source I can find about this and I'm starting to panic!
According to Rail Europe and Renfe there is no option to go by train from Santiago to Madrid, it simply brings up a message saying...
We are going into and out of Paris because, like the OP, it is MUCH cheaper than going via Madrid or Barcelona, or going into Paris and out of Spain. I'm talking at least a third of the price, including the trains to and from, etc.
The other reason is that we're meeting my sister and niece in...
Thanks everyone, I think I'll show mum these replies and let her decide which she'd be comfortable with. I'm used to navigating foreign stations and airports, but she's not, so I need to make sure I'm not dragging her around too much.
I know I've seen people here discussing this but I can't find it in the search, so just wondering if anyone can help me out.
How long will I realistically need at Bordeaux to transfer on the way to Bayonne? Given that I'm unfamiliar with the station and that I'll be with my mother who has a...
I'd looked at them a while back but I had heard some bad reviews. Nice to hear some positive ones, too. I've booked tickets this time but maybe I'll look at them next time I go as I already had one bad experience with the airline I'm flying with and we're still months from take off!
Ah, I see. I'd heard a few other people say that they were going from Montparnasse so I thought I should check to be sure. You can always count on the experts here!
As far as I can tell my plane will get in with plenty of time to make it for the 10am train (barring any delays) so I'm hoping we...
That's where I'm planning on staying :)
Just a question though for everyone, when I've been looking at the Rail Europe site it says you can get the train to Bayonne straight from the CDG airport. Is that incorrect? I may need to rethink our plans if it is.
Thanks for that info. That does look like it will be a very convenient spot to stay, and it looks quite nice, too!
I'm not leaving until next year but as my mother tends to panic a bit and my sister is trying to arrange her travel plans so we can all meet at Bayonne I'm trying to get the plan...
I've gone over the travel plan with my family and they agree that after a 24-30 hour flight from Australia we don't want to rush and wear ourselves out before we start. So when we land we're going straight to Bayonne by train and should arrive mid-afternoon.
Can anyone recommend a good (cheap)...
Yes, I'm thinking now that while for my mum and myself it won't be a problem if we have to start a day or two later, for my sister and niece it might cause some issues as they are on a tighter schedule.
Maybe we can arrange to meet in SJPP instead of in Paris, that way they can head there the...
Thanks, Margaret. It looks like I'd have to book flights well in advance of the train tickets, but I think from looking at that that it should work out okay.
Thanks, i think we'd have reservations on the TGV but not on the train from Bayonne to SJPP, maybe it would be best to shift a day either side just to be on the safe side.
