I did not read any other responses, so sorry if redundant.
You could walk the Vasco. Starts in Irun and connects to the Frances in either Burgos or Santa Domingo de Calzada.
Gronze offers users of their site, like most apps., the opportunity to comment on their experiences. Many people do and based on their expectations or personal requirements they comment favorably or not. That is their prerogative.
In my 10 plus Camino's, I can say I have never left a comment...
The cost varies daily for everyone and the time of year you walk. What type of environment are you comfortable sleeping? What are your requirements in regards to eating? Buying meals or cooking? Are you walking off season, fewer sleep options, or in season, more options possible companions for...
You cover a lot in your post. I agree that the forum is a great place for first time Pilgrims to get information. ie: packing, shoes, sleeping bag or liner, rain gear or poncho, etc. etc. These topics provide a new walker with good information that will help enhance their Camino experience by...
I am also a bourbon drinker but on the Camino have trended toward beer, wine and Orujo. That said, in any decent sized town you are likely to be able to find bourbon in a hotel bar.
I am starting my next Camino on April 3 and will report back on Bourbon on the Camino
I acknowledge them with a greeting. If they want to talk they most likely will say something back. If they are struggling, I might ask if they are ok and assist if asked.
Otherwise, I keep on walking and will likely see them that evening because there are fewer accommodations along the VdlP...

All will be fine. Fifty days is more than enough. You will never be alone on the CF. I would recommend you just keep putting one foot in front of the other, address any feet issues asap, (as your feet go so goes your Camino, try not to plan to much or have expectations and just let the...
First, I would not worry about two stamps per day after walking that distance. That said, I finished on the Camino Invierno this Summer and there were plenty of places to get stamps the entire way.
3 to 4 mph (5 to 6.5 kph), 6-8 hours per day. The variation is dependent on terrain, weather and route. Some Camino's like Frances there are frequent accommodations. The VdlP not so much.
Poor; lacking sufficient money to live at a standard considered comfortable or normal in a society.
After reading this entire thread, I decided to look up the definition of the word poor. The definition leads to, imo, the need to then define the words comfortable, normal and in what society...
The current huge concern about inflation is being blown out of proportion, imo. Anyone who lived through the late 70's and 80's will remember when inflation was in double digits. Now, with Covid and some countries strict response impacting supply chain and countries flooding their markets with...
Stephan worrying about cost (inflation) is like worrying about the weather (rain, snow). A waste of energy, imo.
Just look at gronze.com and you can get a good idea of current costs. I just finished Madrid/San Salvador/Primitivo in late October and you could still get bye on 35euros a day. If...
Regret, imo, is wasted energy. You can not change your decision and you will never know if the outcome would have been better. Living in the present is the way to go.
I think 50 Euros a day will be more than adequate. Seventy euro's a day seems unrealistic too me unless you are staying in hotels. I would argue you could not spend 70 euros a day in most towns, on the Frances, unless you were buying my drinks^^.
You have an income source that is a plus. You can always change your mind if, for some reason, it does not work out.
We have considered living abroad but our largest drawback has always been being so far away from family (in particular grandkids) and friends.
Like all choices in life, there...
Finding answers and implementing are two very different challenges.
The Camino provides a wonderful environment to learn about oneself. In my experience, the journey allows me the necessary quiet in my head to examine what is working and what is not in my life. Some of these learning are...
