I saw a woman with a massive bag of it in El Ganso last night!! Not sure why she needed so much.

    October Camino - shorts?

I’ve walked this April and May in shorts - starting at 3 degrees Celsius many mornings. Was the same in October when I walked. The question, though, is not whether I would do it, but would you be comfortable with that. Would you consider convertible zip-off pants as an option?

If we are not careful @GuyA will be graphing all the different directions this thread has taken!

From Lugo to Santa Eulalia on Verde?

This may not be much help, but we took the Verde AND went to Santa Eulalia (which seemed to take forever on little roads) but I can’t remember details!! Just know it can be done.

    The Pilgrim’s Guide to Etiquette

Not at all @Kirkie - it’s all @GuyA !! All I did was make it harder for him NOT to post his grand graph than to take the risk of being excommunicated from the forum!

    Hospital de Órbigo

If you are going to be here on Friday, Saturday or Sunday, you’re in for a treat. There will be a medieval fair, horses, jousting, the whole works! It’s already looking good as they prepare for the fiesta.

    Credencial for the San Salvador

I was there two days ago and no one appeared to open the reception until 11am. But maybe you could contact them before you go.

    The Pilgrim’s Guide to Etiquette

The OP spent some of her walk to Villar de Mazarife this morning thinking about “k”s. Which, incidentally, is pretty off topic lol I reached the conclusion I might use “k” in spoken communication, but would always use km when writing. We might be witnessing an example of language shift, which...

Difficulty/ dangerousness/ albergues on the Primitivo?

Nothing dangerous although there is a short steepish rocky path on the Hospitales route which my 8yo daughter slipped on and tumbled quite a bit. She’s since walked it again without trouble. Nothing to be anxious about.

Albergue San Juan de Ortega -- a question

Less than a month ago, so that would make it spring. 3 degrees overnight. The food offering is now pasta with tomato sauce and those who had it ate as fast as possible in order to get back outside in the sun! Would I stay there again? Absolutely!

Albergue San Juan de Ortega -- a question

    The Pilgrim’s Guide to Etiquette

Eeek I really don’t like the word “rules”!!! Yet I thank you for your research. I have just got back to read this - crikey, it’s wandered all over the place!! The writing I had started (and done nothing else with because I got to thinking about other things!) had a fair bit of tongue in cheek...

    The Pilgrim’s Guide to Etiquette

As I walked to Calzadilla de la Cueza today (long straight road), probably prompted by noisy torch-bearing pilgrims who got up at 4:20am (5 o’clock is bad enough, but seriously? We couldn’t leave until 6 so what were they going to do for an hour and a half? Oh, that’s right, rustle plastic bags...

From just before Burgos - 47 friggin kms to find a bed!!!

As I was walking out of Burgos a few days ago, six pilgrims were walking back towards me. When Pilgrims 7&8 approached I stopped them to ask what had happened. Evidently there were no beds to be had for the next two “stages for at least two days”. I kept walking towards Tadajos and got a bed -...
