Hats for a late winter Camino Frances

Hello all Is a wide brimmed sun hat need for a feb/march Camino Frances? Is the danger ( ! ) of hats blowing off to be considered ?

Camino Invierno, in winter

Is the Camino Invierno a winter way? I will be in the area early March 2018, is this an option? I have read some of the threads all seem summer related. Also see the new guide book thru CSJ by Reynolds and Walker ( have not ordered yet ). Has anyone walked this in early March ?

basque beret, buying

I will be looking to purchase several Basque berets on my feb/march 2018 walk, are they around? When googling the subject there seems to be a lack of this product. Are they better parts of the Camino Frances to be on the lookout for the berets?

thermos for winter walkers

Hi, is a thermos a practical option for winter walkers? I have seen threads for brew your own in the mornings ( great idea ) before starting, but none for carrying the extra weight of a thermos for the day. In places that don't have bars ( sunday, mesceta ) is it a good idea?

Walking Feb 12/18

Hello all, my name is Bill and will be walking the Camino Frances. I will be arriving in southern France Feb 11/18 and getting to SJPP Feb 12 or 13th, flying out of Porto March 27, after getting to Santiago de Compostela. All else is open, very exciting to travel this way and a bit daunting...
