Thats an option I haven't explored - thanks! I will have to see if the route runs at end of October still. As explained in other reply I am starting this thing from Barcelona on 29th . Easy to get to Pamplona by train but hadn't considered this bus to San S, Bayonne and then SJPDP. will check...

Getting from Pamplona to SJPDP Oct 30, 2023 - non bus options?

Hi - Thanks and Yes I have considered it and more I consider it that may be my best option. Probably not doing the Napolean route then due to weather, I expect the other one. I am tagging this onto a week's holiday in the Barcelona area so will be in Bcn on 29 October. I only have about 7-8...

Getting from Pamplona to SJPDP Oct 30, 2023 - non bus options?

Hi I am exploring how to get from Pamplona to SJPDP to start CF at the end of October, Monday 30 Oct specifically. Unfortunately the ALSA Bus (1x / day) stops after 12 Oct. So looking into other ways there is of course a taxi for about 140 Euros. Which is more than I would want to pay, and...

    Hi I'm Chris

Which route for a short Camino trip (up to 2 weeks) in November

true - I'll need to consider that since I will be in Barcelona just before (I'm tagging this onto a family hol there in Oct) . Will be easier to get to say Pamplona than SJPDP. will consider that and try not to be bothered by the 'starting line' concept!

Which route for a short Camino trip (up to 2 weeks) in November

Thanks a lot - think I will go Option 1 . I'd rather start at the start. And I do think CF would be good for 1st camino, thought CP sounds good too but will do later. Think I'm decided now so Thanks!

Which route for a short Camino trip (up to 2 weeks) in November

thanks - sounds good but for some reason I like to start at the start and might feel weird starting midway and getting to SdC. I think I'm setting on ' CF from the start and see how far I get' rough approach. But thanks a lot for your advice!

Which route for a short Camino trip (up to 2 weeks) in November

Thanks - great to hear from such experienced trekkers! Thinkink its setting in my head now as best option as you say, more hostels etc, enough people, just need right clothes. Start walking CF , see how far I get in the time I have , get home from MAdrid or Bilbao, and return later. The CP...

Which route for a short Camino trip (up to 2 weeks) in November

thanks I am thinking something along those lines. The idea of doing the last part of the trek , then the first later seems weird to me . Portugues seems nice too but my gut is saying start tackling CF although in stages . Low route thru Pyranees of course.

    Hi I'm Chris

Thanks - I know i should start training, and like the idea of things like Borders Abbeys way or Cateran train Perthire. I am pretty fit for 58, running 5 miles typically but not with backpack etc. Canal path to Glasgow could be just thing. Thanks a lot!

Which route for a short Camino trip (up to 2 weeks) in November

I’ve been trying to find time to walk a first Camino (any) but struggled for time due to life commitments. I think I’ll have about 10 days maybe 2 weeks at start of November. Early planning now so I am trying to decide which route – any advice from peregrinos? I have read other posts about the...
