Food to bring to Spanish friend from US

Going to a US grocery store and spend some hours there and see what is being sold and eaten is a part of cultural program. At least for me.

Choice of backpack for daily packing (Ingles in October)

Back here. Went to Decathlon to see what they offer. Their MH500 is quite a nice product. Did not like Deuter backpacks because for me the hip strap wasn't padded enough. Osprey Talon 26 fitted well, but I had an impression of having something huge on the back. Ended up with a Ferrino Agile 23 Lady.

Choice of backpack for daily packing (Ingles in October)

That's a big the point. There isn't a huge difference between a Decathlon pack and a Deuter (here in Italy). I will definitely go by trying. But not easy to find a nice store with a choice.

Choice of backpack for daily packing (Ingles in October)

I am located in Italy, so no access to REI. Being not in a big city I will have to search for brands retailer first and then probably in that shop I can find other brands. We have only Decathlon as a big store with a big choice and a handful of smaller shops that I still need to figure out.

Choice of backpack for daily packing (Ingles in October)

So...what I understood is that I should be looking into 20-25L packback, for sure hip belt, better padded, internal frame or structured anyway. Trying first in a physical shop rather then buying online. Most quoted brands are Gregory, Deuter, Osprey

Choice of backpack for daily packing (Ingles in October)

Meanwhile thanks everybody for first insight. What to put inside: I think it will be fleece jacket, rain jacket, water, first aid kit, guide book, sunglasses, tissues, snack and then who knows what else. I will wear waist pack as well, as I like some things like phone, tissues "handy". But I am...

Need some help here. Camino Ingles beginning of October. Definitely sending luggage forward. Female, 175cm tall. Searching for a backpack to carry and a waist pack. On touring trips I am used to carry documents and small stuff in crossbody and then have a backpack, but my shoulders hurt a lot...

End September 2024 - first time Camino

As for now I don't really like the idea of taxing back and forth, but I may consider it if I don't find suitable solutions. Any other way to break Betanzos - Sigueiro in 3 days with a some lodging options?

End September 2024 - first time Camino

So, after having received some advice here on forum, the decision is Camino Ingles, end of September. I am average fit, right now walk around 10km daily, but not in the hills. My SO will be joining me, he's quite fit, but still I don't want to rush, so will break the classic stages into more...

    Eternal dilemma: which Camino

So in the end the decision is... Walking Camino Ingles end of September with SO. He's a more "comfortable" type of traveller, so will book accomodations in advance. Now will move to specific Ingles section to organize better. Thanks to everybody for clearing my initial ideas...

    Eternal dilemma: which Camino

I am pretty sure that I will be sending luggage forward rather than carrying it, so I should better book the accommodations to make sure my luggage will be picked up? How common is luggage pick up on Ingles?

    Eternal dilemma: which Camino

Another point that I should probably consider while organizing the days is daily luggage shipping from one place to another. What should I pay attention for in terms of accomodation choice if I will requested luggage forward shipping?

    Eternal dilemma: which Camino

Understood about Bruma. I am just trying to keep the days averagely equal and would like to avoid bed rush. I have read somewhere that Bruma does not have a lot accomodations. Would like avoiding taxis back and forth, but if there is no place in municipal albergue, I can afford another accomodation.

    Eternal dilemma: which Camino

Thanks @Peterexpatkiwi , will look into this division as well. For some reason wanted to stop in Betanzos and I wanted to split into 7 days. That is what my excel shows for Ingles: Tappa Km Ascend, m Descend, m 1 Ferrol - Neda 13,77 184 175 2 Neda - Pontedeume 14,65 345 327 3...

    Eternal dilemma: which Camino

Me again. The planned period should be second half of September. I have shortlisted the Caminos to Ingles from Ferrol and a piece of Portughese Coastal from Baiona. Working on the first one for now. I would like to add 1-2 days to classical stages, just to make sure I do not overdo. So, my...

    Eternal dilemma: which Camino

I hope to start having more clear ideas now. The total days of the trip would be 12, considering inbound and outbound flight. First option is end of April around May 1st Labor day. Second option will be mid September. This means 10 days effectively in Spain. I shortlisted caminos to Camino...

    Eternal dilemma: which Camino

This is what I have underrated while driving it, but what I realize now reading this forum. I only need to match the "almost last minute" bed arrangements with my usual way of "booking in advance after having checked the best option" Thank you for this one. It gives me trigger to consider...
