I picked up some at the albergue where I was staying in Santiago, then walked to Muxia, Finisterre and from Porto back to Santiago, where I left those poles at the same albergue. Hopefully someone else gets to use them too:)
A thousand years ago pilgrims had to walk back to their homes:) Yes, you can stay in albergues if you are walking, you are still a pilgrim.
I am not sure if you mean you have 17 days after you walk in which to get to Porto, or if you are coming from Porto and allowing 17 days to walk. I...
I wouldn't recommend a typical crossbody bag, that weighs very much. I used one for a day or two when I sent my backpack ahead. It made me feel lopsided, and was annoyingly rubbing against my arm and bumping on my hip. Perhaps with something holding it in place at your waist? Or maybe a well...
You can also walk if you have plenty of time. I walked from the airport into Santiago. It is about 15 km and joins with the Camino Frances after the first few km. I found it a great way to START my Camino Finisterre. But then I took the bus out to the airport when I left.
In 2022 I started walking in Santiago, and was able to pick up some donated poles at the albergue where I stayed. I walked to Muxia and Finsterre, then Porto to Santiago again and left them at the same albergue. Sweet! All I need to provide was some pole tips.

A few albergue suggestions:
Casa de Carolina at Anha
Quinta da Quinhas at Vila Praia de Ancora (and walk up the hill to the restaurant)
Then I went inland at Caminha to Valenca and...
You could take an extra day with the Variante Espiritual. It is typically 2 days of walking plus the boat, but the first day from Pontevedra has a giant hill, and the second day is quite long (for me, anyway), but very beautiful.
I stayed at the municipal albergue in Armenteira and was able to book in advance through WhatsApp. If you do this, make sure to get a confirmation. I almost lost my bed because I didn't have one. From there it is a short walk back to the Monastery for the pilgrim service, which is lovely. I...
Casa de Jesus in Vilar de Mazarife has a ship of some kind in the yard and is a very nice albergue. I have fond memories of my stay there. Not sure if that is the one you are referring to.
I walked the original route from Caminha to Valenca in fall 2022 and loved it. I actually stayed Sao Pedro da Torre (Alvorada Medieval is an awesome albergue) which is a few km before Valenca. I stopped at Vila Nova de Cerveira for lunch so it is well supported. But it was a quiet walk and I...
