SIM card and place to purchase

I forgot to say, they do unlimited data plans for various lengths of time & will work in all EU countries. Just remember to switch your data roaming on after you've installed the e-sim.

    After Santiago?

That's a really interesting question. I'd say you won't be eligible for municipal albergues, but private albergues will certainly welcome your custom. And it seems to me that private albergues are definitely coming to the fore now. More & more pilgrims are discussing booking & staying in private...

Reducing carbon - arriving by ferry to Bilbao/Santander or train from Barcelona

I'm taking the train from Newcastle to London, Eurostar to Paris, then sleeper from Paris to Latour de Carol (Spanish border). Local train to Barcelona, then AVE Train to Vigo via Madrid, then local train from Vigo to Porto.

How do people 60-and-over plan their Camino?

Hi Kevin, yeah....I still have our pics from SJPP. Hope everything is good with you. I'm in the throes of sorting a camino from either Seville or Lisbon next year.

How do people 60-and-over plan their Camino?

I've did 3 caminos now & I'm in my 60's. I've never planned anything yet, just wing it & hey, it comes together better than planning it. I fly & catch whatever train cones next to SJPP, then wander down the street & find an albergue that has a vacant bed. Get a pilgrim passport from the office...

    UK to Portugal Ferry Route?

That would be brilliant...a good rest on the overnight boat, then straight on the Camino...

    Camino Central

Hi, I'm doing the Camino Central & starting from Porto on 06th of March 2018. Work commitments stop me from starting from Lisbon but hey, a 10 day Camino is better than no Camino. Is anyone else about at this time? I've did the Frances 3 times now & thought it was about time I gave the Portugese...

Hi all, I arrive at Biarritz at 17.00hrs on Tuesday 04th October. Does anyone have a shared minibus/taxi arranged close to this time to get to SJPDP? I plan on staying at Gite Ultreïa (awaiting confirmation email). And of course, onwards & upwards up that bloody Hill the next morning towards...

How Many People Walked The Camino Without Any Training ?

I've did 2 caminos now & not did one bit of training with a rucksack. I dreaded the first day from SJPDP but you know what, I got to Orisson & decided to crack on to Roncesvalles. I gave my booked bed away to someone more needy than me. Yes it was tiring, but it's doable by anyone that tries...

Comment by 'diverdavey' in media 'The Climb from Pamplona'

I love this view. It was wonderful to sit there with the humming of the wind turbines in the background, contemplating the arduous descent that was to come.

    Bed bugs

I've just finished the Camino Frances & can happily report a bed bug free camino. I did use a permetherin treated sheet & my sleeping bag & rucksack were treated as well. I didn't encounter any pilgrims on 4 week trip that had any problems either. I stayed in a variety of municipal, parochial &...
