in 2011, I injured my back after Leon. I rested for one night in San Martin del Camino. Though I resumed my walk after, I skipped O Cebreiro because it required going up the mountainside. I made it to Santiago but I did return to the Camino in 2016 for my 2nd Camino to visit O Cebreiro from...
I've taken the train from Santiago to Madrid twice after my Camino but that was in October, 2011 and October, 2016. I went to the train station the day before my departure and purchased my ticket. No prior reservation. No problem whatsoever.

I took the bus from Ponferrada to Lugo in 2011, spent the night in Lugo then took the bus from Lugo to Triacastela the following day to resume my walk on the Camino Frances.
Falcon, isn't Hierro de Cruz the highest elevation on the Camino Frances? I did the Camino Frances on Sep-Oct 2011 from Roncesvalles to Santiago.

Hi John, I've had surgery (Arthroscopic) on both of my knees. Torn meniscus. But, I walked almost 25 kms a day from Roncesvalles to Santiago. I wore knee supports all throughout and they worked. for 29 days. But I was able to overcome it with the knee supports, ointment and rest every afternoon...
I walked in 2011 from Roncesvalles to Santiago. Half the way, I walked with a friend. The 2nd half, I walked alone. It was a different feeling walking alone. A much better experience, both spiritually and physically.
Hi,
I'm in Toronto. I've done the Camino Frances (in 2011) but I walked so I can't be of much help to you since you will be biking. But, I was told that there's a fellow who works at Mountain Equipment Coop (at King) who has done the Camino. He might be able to help you. Just a tip.
The wooden staff that I got in Spain worked well during my Camino in 2011 and worked even better when a dog got aggressive with me. I had the tall staff that extended to my shoulder.
Amanda, I walked from Roncesvalles to Santiago. Half of the way, I walked with a friend and half, I walked alone. No troubles along the way. You will always find pilgrims or peregrinos along the way and all are generally friendly and helpful. The people in the villages are also friendly. Most...
I walked the Camino last year (Sep 2011) for 29 days from Roncesvalles to Santiago. I don't think there are many of them (intolerant, complainers, shallow) in the Camino. I didn't meet or come across one. So don't let the posts affect you. Go and do it. I'm doing it again in 2013.
Re: Camino Pilgrim from the Philipines
Hi Manny D...I walked the Camino Frances from Sep 11 to Oct 9, 2011. I am planning to walk again next year (2013) in Sep. I am attaching 2 pictures - my backpack with the Philippine flag and when I reached the highest point of the Camino (La Cruz de...
Hi, when I walked the Camino (Frances) in 2011, I had the Philippine flag on my backpack. I will use the same backpack with the Philippine flag when I walk again in Sep, 2013. Give me a wave if you happen to see me. Thanks.....Mackie
