Dear Susan. I'm based in Poland and one of the people marking polish Camino trails. Also I'm guiding pilgrims on the Camino in Poland. Feel free to ask me anything about it.
As for february 2020, we have ~7.000 kilometers of the Camino market in Poland. The most popular routes are: Via Regia...
And if anyone would like to get a more "exotic" patch, please have a look at our polish badge: http://mypielgrzymi.com/naszywka .
We also have a list of pathes made by other organisations (have a look here), including badges made by Ivar.
Polish Association of Friends of the Camino started to volunteer in Centro Europeo de Peregrinacion on Monte do Gozo this year (http://mypielgrzymi.com/porady/monte-do-gozo/). Naxt year we will probably need volunteers as well, so if anybody would be interested in helping us out, please contact...
Hello Ian.
I use to live in Peterborough for over three years and I had no idea there was any pilgrims there. After my Camino in 2008 I left UK and came back to Poland.
Anyways. I wish all Peterboroug Pilgrims a peaceful and happy Christmas.
Pope JPII was walking paths in his favourite Beskid Żywiecki Mountains. Now we have Pope trails there, so we can walk the exact routes, he was walking on. But, that has nothing to do with the Camino I'm affraid...
On one of our polish forums someone wrote: Camino is in your heart, not on the piece of paper.
Some people are walking their camino for that piece of paper, but hopefully, when they arrive in Santiago, they will know, that it is only a piece of paper.
I am planning to walk from Tui to Santiago in January (ocassional pilgrimage during my visit to Santiago). Just need to trust St.James. If it's going to be snowy or windy- thats great; I will appreciate my cosy bed more, when I'll come back.
A lot of people would be dissapointed, if Pope Benedict XVI would skip Santiago in his pilgrimage schedule for the next year. I hope, He will come, but if there was no official announcements untill now...
Hello peregrinos and peregrinas! I have got the same problem. Is there any bus connection between Santiago and Tui? I could not fint it on alsa website.
Dear all. Let me attach a current map of polish routes. We are in process of waymarking another few hundred kilometers of Camino, so in following months this map will change significantly. Thanks for all your support t polish Caminos!
Kuba.
Here- http://mypielgrzymi.com/drogi/ you will find a map of all existing routes in our country. Different scallop styles in various regions is just the consequence of different groups working on the Camino in Poland. If you wish to get some information on the routes go to...
Hello pilgrims!
I am searching the web for anything on the history of spanish albergues (not only spanish actually). I am interested in absolutelly everything in this topic. If you could help me out with some old pictures/texts/books/documents etc. I would be very grateful.
Thanks a lot.
Kuba.
We had an awful experience staying at Rabe last year. I just wonder why they still keep that albergue on their list here: http://www.caminosantiagoburgos.com/cam ... ues.php#14 .
There is a charming B&B that you could stay in if you arrive late - the owner will probably offer to collect you from the station. tim@errecaldia.com http://www.errecaldia.com/
Yes- I confirm! Tim is a great person and he can pick you up from the station whenever you wish (just let him know...
To polish pilgrims:
There is a bus service to Poland (major cities like Wroclaw, Krakow, Poznan, Warsaw) from Santiago. It takes some 30hrs and costs between 130 to 160 euros. Pretty expensive and time consuming, but it can be ideal last-minute option.
You will get your tickets from ALSA at...
