Peripheral Neuropathy and walking the Camino

    Trip insurance for the Camino

I've walked 5/6 caminos with a pre-existing condition. I never bothered with private health insurance and made sure my E11 card, or whatever it is called now, was up to date. I only ever had occasion to use it on one trip, after a bad fall just outside Valencia. I soldiered on for over 6 weeks...

    Neuropathy tips

I suffered from intense chemo induced peripheral neuropathy and was told "apart from pottering around, you may never walk again." I set about trying to fix this (with what seemed like a crazy long term aim in 2013 to be able complete the camino frances) along with a bucket full of painkillers I...

Ancient churches on the San Salvador, Primitivo, and Via de la Plata

I do. I was married in Santa Maria del Naranco in 1977. I return to Oviedo occasionally and go and sit and contemplate the church as my wife passed many years ago.

    Getting from Norte to Oviedo

Take the regular bus from Pola as the walk in to Oviedo is tarmac anyway and uninspiring.

Best time to walk San Salvador

Who knows. In theory from Leon to Pajares is the drier side. You are in the mountains so anything is possible at any time.

Fro But then from Oviedo on the 26th to Santiago, via the Primitivo, almost torrential rain all the way!
