I like the sound of that, it is what I am looking to do, the freedom to choose, either camp out where I want (within reason) or stay at the albergues, likewise my kit is suitable for purpose so weight not really the issue. thanks

I think the idea for me was that at times, I may enjoy the odd night of solitude under the stars, other times I can enjoy the company of fellow Camino pilgrims and of course it would provide some independence if albergues are full. I get the 6 euros v weight, but it is not just that. however...
