Warning: Improper behavior reported between Astorga and Rabanal

When I started my camino on April 1st I was hiking with a working cellphone and two hiking poles. By the time I got near Astorga I also had two safety whistles: a small one attached to my pack and a seriously super-loud one hanging around my neck & very visible.

Thanks Maya, it was super cool meeting y'all -- glad I had my hat off that night or you might never have introduced yourselves. I knew this hairdo would be good for something other than clowning around!

Forum meeting place -- Pictures from the Tertulia

I gave up. :-) But I'll still be in town the next few days so I'll keep an eye on these 2 threads just in case!

DAILY -- Forum Meetup in Santiago de Compostela

Nobody here yet but it's still early. Either way it's good to be here, very nice place. I know y'all are all here too in spirit. :-)

Forum meeting place -- Pictures from the Tertulia

I'm here now! I think I missed everybody but I'll hang out awhile to see if anyone else shows up. It isn't even 7 yet.

DAILY -- Forum Meetup in Santiago de Compostela

I'm going to come by tonight… hope to see another forum pilgrim, or former pilgrim, future pilgrim, pilgrim admirer… really anybody will do. :-)

Thanks y'all. BTW I mentioned the sheep because if need be I might be able to figure out where the farm was, based on the photos I took & the info from the shepherd plus what I remember visually (other than that butt LOL).

Oh. One other thing I should put out there just so there's a record of it. I don't want to add this to someone else's thread and I don't think it's worth putting into the "camino crime" area, but I do want it said. I had only one situation of seeing a man naked during my camino. It wasn't scary...

I know, it really is a little much but thank you Deb for always being here for me through my camino. More than any other pilgrim you've stood by & supported me & cheered me on all this way. Can't thank you enough Deb.

This is going to be relatively short (for me) but I wanted to say: I reach Santiago tomorrow. I've been traveling by taxi since Ponferrada due to bad problems with my knees, hips, and feet. I saw a doctor there who diagnosed me with tendinitis (for one knee) and put me on anti-inflammatories...

Safety concern - just stopped my Primitivo

Marc31, I want to join the others in saying I am so sorry this happened to you. I wish you peace and strength, and justice served to the man who did this. May no one ever dare to do anything like that to you ever again. And thank you for sharing your story, as difficult as it was for you. I join...

    Peregrino,why do you weep?

I was fine but now you're making me wanna CRY. Ha ha. Very lovely, thank you for posting…

Looking for (edited) Italian pilgrim last seen with Denise Thiem

Nate, just so you know I deleted my tweet at those 2 guys when I read your first note that the person had been located. Hugs to you, Tina & Cedric most of all. I'm in Villavante now, staying in Hospital de Orbigo tomorrow (Thursday), Astorga on Friday & Saturday. If there's ANYthing I can do for...

    A long-winded intro

It's been way too long since I checked in here. I feel guilty about that… it was such a great place to hang when I was *waiting* to start my Camino; why can't I manage to give back while I'm actually doing it? Well, just because. I'm a very slow-hiking pilgrim and there aren't enough hours in...

LIVE from the Camino Update 10 April 2015 -- Z-Stepping the Camino

Mysticl, I could give you a run for your money in the slowness department. I get passed aaaall day long until there's literally nobody left to pass me. But like you, I like to take my sweet time & not get myself overexerted. I just don't like turning purple and getting drenched with sweat, so I...

LIVE from the Camino Update 10 April 2015 -- Z-Stepping the Camino

Grogan, I do the same thing on steep downhills! I think it looks like I'm dancing, or fooling around somehow. I must be adding a lot of steps… but my knees say it's worth it! I do another goofy-looking thing on steep ascents. It's an actual Thing though, called the Rest Step. You kinda kick one...

Oops I hit send prematurely!! Y'all get the idea. I ended up ditching that setup and buying an actual rolling duffel, at Corte Inglés in Pamplona. It's a million times better.

    A long-winded intro

I'm feeling about 75% recovered from whatever it was I caught last week. Sooo happy to say I'm able to walk again… I was taking taxis for a few days due to the hacking fits & blisters. But I'm pretty okay now! Yesterday I did ~10 miles from Los Arcos to Viana and had no real issues with either...
