There are many many occasions on the Camino to acknowledge and indeed practice your faith. There are literally hundreds of wonderful churches to visit and stay a while should you care to. The magnificent cathedral in Burgos is truly one of the greatest churches in the world, Leon too has one...
Oh that is bad luck. If it was broken you would know. Major swelling, pain and bruising. Whilst sprains can be painful, it’s not as bad as breaks. RICE Rest, Ice, Compression and Elevation is the key. I know it’s painful but getting that joint into a bucket of ice water is the absolute best to...
I totally agree. Well worth the journey see it in all its splendour. We too were there in 2017 and were a little disappointed, but finishing the Camino was too great to let a little scaffolding sour the event
Relax and enjoy it. My friend told me not everything, and I'm glad he didn't. The Camino always provides. You will hear things that may not even happen. This is a "Life" experience. Enjoy the anticipation and adventure. We have been home now 2 months, and there is not a dat goes by the Csmino...
Got there pre 0900hrs. First in best dressed. The packs of wannabes in uniform singing Buen Camino at everybody they skip past from Sarria onwards are more of a disappointment. There should be a separate completion recognition for them, but really it's all about the wonderful things going on in...
I made the mistake of flying Ryan Air from Lisbon to Naples after our Camino, booking with them is like dancing through a mine field. It's expensive and very difficult. They are a third world organisation with absolutely NO customer service. I guess I just grateful we actually flew
Hi, I probably would look for somewhere to chill. After the CF I'd be surprised if you felt like tripping around. We went to Sagres down the bottom of Portugal it's stunning, and then flew from a Lisbon to Naples and ferried across to Capri and Amalfi. Good timing too you'll beat the tourist hordes
And there are many that do just slip out, well prepared to ensure minimal disruption to others, and then there are those buffoons, those notice boxes that have to let everybody know they are leaving early. Take a deep breath and just accept that some do not understand the comfort of others!
I found French post most hospitable, though the only way to ship bags, so you know it WILL happen is by SendMyBag, expensive, but effective. What is the price of not having your bag is the deciding factor
A dash of common sense and courtesy would be the answer. It's a walking track, and in May we too were frightened many times by bikes speeding past us. It is dangerous to say the least, as walkers often change direction without thinking. Very few actually used and form of warning. They need to...
Everybody's Camino has to be different. Following a "guide" has its own limitations. We picked up a little Michelin guide at a railway station and used it as just that...a guide. Where it suited us we changed the rules to suit ourselves. We were very lucky we never got the blisters, others did...
