I stayed in the albergue at Bodenaya and loved it. We had amazing food there and great conversation with the other pilgrims. I also had a room all to myself which was a bonus!
It's not very clear but it looks like there are the beehive shaped buildings in the background common in La Rioja. That's my guess, but I could be wrong.
You can see a clearer picture of one here: https://ourcaminoturtlewalk.wordpress.com/2018/10/02/day-13-la-rioja-region-of-spain/

Thanks a lot for this, that's really useful. Amazing that they have a 24h phone number. I hope I don't need it but I will definitely make a note of it.
I'm at the early stages of planning to walk from Lisbon to Santiago this year and am wondering what the albergue situation is like? I have walked the Camino Francés and Primitivo before and didn't do book any accommodation in advance and always managed to find somewhere to stay. Is this the same...

I live in Aberdeen and flights are usually quite pricy from here. Then there are two bank holidays in July (only for Aberdeen for some reason) and I was hoping to travel over these dates to get the most time off work possible. The cheapest I found using skyscanner was £265 I think, via Dublin...
I‘m not trying to start an argument. I have flown to the camino plenty of times and it might be the only practical way. If there was a good alternative I‘d like to know about it though. Especially if someone has experience of dong it over land.
I am planning to walk the Camino Portuguese this year, hopefully Lisbon - Santiago. Travellng from the UK means a lot flights as there is not direct flight from where I live in Scotland. I feel a bit guilty about this since flying is terrible for the environment and would love to find a...
This place looked really nice but was unfortunately full when I arrived. They did have an excellent bar/restaurant though with delicious food in huge portions. I spent a lot of time there!
