Last May I hiked the Salvador with a friend. We saw a total of 4 pilgrims. These were 1 pair of friends, and 2 others walking solo. We spent 1 night with the 2 solo hikers. They rest of the walk we were the only pilgrims.
If you want to be alone in the mountains, and avoid the crowds, it's...
I went with a friend last May. We saw 4 pilgrims the entire hike. Very well marked. Beautiful. Use Endor's guide, make reservations, take snacks and dress warm. I'm 67. I'd love to do it again.
The Convent in Laredo was a most memorable stop for us. Notable because of the hospitality, singing, pilgrim service, and communal meal. The sisters prepared soup and bread. While the pilgrims went into town to purchase food to share. Afterwards, we all cleaned the dining room. It was great.

We finished the Salvador about a week ago, in mid May. During the 5 days we saw a total of 2 Spaniards and 2 Fins on the Salvador. In many of the towns we passed thru, we never saw any townspeople. It's quiet, beautiful, tough and an offering of solitude.
I have used Correos to transport a bag on the Norte and Frances in the past. In May I am hiking the Salvador and the Primitivo. I know Correos service is available on the Primitivo. Does anyone know of a luggage service on the Salvador?
Thx for your assistance. Buen Camino!
We did the first half of the Frances last year and will walk from Leon to SdC this summer. I would like 2 recommendations.
1. We want to schedule 2 rest days between Leon & SdC. What towns have a lot of charm and would be nice stops?
2. Are there churches, albergues, convents or...
This summer we flew from the US to Madrid. From there we caught a flight to Pamplona. Trains are also available. Depending on your need to rest, and time of arrival, you can take a bus or share a taxi from Pamplona to SJPDP. We shared a taxi cutting the cost in half. We left NC at 6pm and...
