O
Oh dear, intend to walk same route starting 2nd May. Must rethink my layers.
Similar to our 1st Camino May 2013 when I recount that we didn't walk for the 1st 3 days but swam them.!!!
Never experiences that rain of biblical proportions before or since.
Will keep a keen interest on the weather...
Ivar, it's better/preferable to be good looking than lucky...
Well that's what I try to convince myself!!!
Unfortunately in my case the mirror doesn't lie...
I was 70 last May, the oldest male in my family in 3 generations by 20 years... every year part 50 was a bonus year.
To celebrate being 70 I hit on a play on the gaelic for 70. Secht dó and adapted it to phonetically "Shock Joe!"
Plans were made and dreams of a fun year were my horizons...
Absolutely no shortage of training routes on the Burren. Keep in mind the need to tackle the hills. A relation who live on Inis Meáin done all the training on the island!
Na Dal gCais abú.

Also consider checking the route out while you still have daylight. It may save some anxiety before setting off in the dark morning and allow you to step out with confidence.
Some years ago I had bad blisters. Bought a pair of Bestard boots. Blister free almost immediately. Spanish made boots. Had excellent fitting advice. Had the resolved by the factory and still providing comfortable walking in the Irish lockdown
