    Paris to Le Puy

Hi Cleigh, For the train I took, it was right there at CDG. Once I got through customs after arrival, it was a 10 minute walk to the trains through the airport. Found my platform with plenty of time to spare. Thank you to all those who contributed here. Keep a smile, Simeon

    Paris to Le Puy

Greetings to all, Thank you for this wonderful thread and all the helpful insight. I too was looking into this same travel in order to start my waddle. After pushing a few buttons recommended above, I think I've figured it out. I hope it's ok to share here to get your input. I arrive at...

Poll Which Camino are you planning next?

Hello wonderful walkers, Le Puy route should have been my 6th Camino last summer, losing hope for this summer, and will keep looking forward to next summer, 2022! Until then, I waddle as much as possible. Trust in the arrows, Simeon

Cathedral Closed...Is the Camino still worth it?

Hello friends, Not sure I could possibly add anything more than the wonderful replies here. However, I will share my first thought of the closed Cathedral. In my wishful thinking and not meaning disrespect, perhaps this will mean a little less walkers during this time? Keep a smile, Simeon

Would you pay extra for a lower bed?

If one could imagine what Winnie the Pooh would look like climbing up and down to a top bunk, that would be me. Reaching anything with arms or legs is nearly impossible. There have been times when I have been dangling until someone helps. How embarrassing. Bottom bunks or even floors are...

    Ryanair onboard bag policy changed

Ohh...I had never thought of that. Thank you Julie! Would you say this is quicker than flying to Manchester and taking train to St. Bees?

    Ryanair onboard bag policy changed

Hello Phil, Thank you very much for the suggestion. Now I will look into the train schedule and go that way. I enjoy the train more than bus as well especially if more efficient. I appreciate your insight here. Have a great day, Simeon

    Ryanair onboard bag policy changed

My apologies if it seems I've responded out of context. I was thinking more of flying Ryan Air outside of the realm of the Camino (like me Dublin to Manchester) or even from Boston to Madrid if need be. Wherever we may be, it is good to understand the new baggage policy.

Comparison of Camino Frances with C2C

Wow, Tony! What a great offer. Thank you. Would be good to hear your Camino stories. Cheers!

    Ryanair onboard bag policy changed

True. Perhaps still good to share information for those flying out of airports which Iberia doesn't serve.

Comparison of Camino Frances with C2C

Hi Kathy! Thank you very much and the same to you. While I've done many long walks, this one has always caught my attention. I figure now is time to give it a go. If I come across any insightful tips, I'll be sure to share them with you. Exciting!

Comparison of Camino Frances with C2C

Hello friends, I will also walk Wainwright' Way this summer. I am happy to see the question being asked and the kind, helpful responses. Very good tips for me to keep in mind including the links posted above to the other thread. If I may, might anyone have input on getting from Dublin to St...

    Ryanair onboard bag policy changed

Hello friends. Thank you all for this input. I came across this new information earlier this week as I plan my flight from Dublin to Manchester (UK) as I'm walking Wainwright's Way this summer. It was confusing via Ryan Air, yet as I did a trial booking (I go through all the motions and...

New albergue in Alpriate -- NOW CLOSED PERMANENTLY

Arrived straight from California to Lisbon. Off of airplane, took bus to Se', started my walk all in one go, ended in Alpriate mid-June. Only a wonderful woman from Estonia and me staying. As one could imagine, after that long flight and walk out of Lisbon all at once, all I wanted was a mat...

    Credencial in Lisbon

For anyone else following, I was told the same thing in mid-June. The Cathedral had run out of credentials. I was directed to the Basilica. I did bring my own, however, I thought I'd get one from Lisbon if anything special. I decided to use the one I had brought and moved on. When returning...

The ferry between Caminha, Portugal and A Guarda, Spain summer 2015

In early July, found out no ferry was running on the Sunday morning needed. With others in the albergue, we arranged for taxi for 4 people, I think 6 euro each. A 6am pickup, quick ride, to other side, started walking from there.

Currently on Camino Portuguese share and advice?

Hello friends, Finish my waddle last Monday. What an experience. Would be more than happy to share here or thinking should I start another thread? In short: Started in Lisbon to Porto. Took Coastal Route from Porto. Deviated from Porto and stayed on coast. Met back up with Interior Route...

    Caminho Nascente: Fatima <--> Tomar

Hello, I am very much wanting to make the walk this week from Tomar to Fatima. For time reasons (and I have already spend a day-night in Fatima 2010), I am wondering if there is a bus from Fatima back to Tomar in the evening? Thinking I could walk to Fatima, spend several hours there, and...
