Spanish people like to connect with people that they talk to

Well i don’t entirely agree! I’m Swedish , so from the north, and here we are lots of touchers and huggers. Kisses haven’t been the thing here but has spread (in some groups of younger people mostly) from further south. Mostly air kisses. I’m seventy plus ( age just to show that that isnt so...

How late is too late to start (in the season)?

Sorry! Wrong date on my first walk! I was in Córdoba the twelfth of June! Not may. 🙄

How late is too late to start (in the season)?

I’d say it’s too late. Maybe not for the first part until Granada, but to walk the inner Andalucía and Extremadura in June is risky. You could get real massive heat. I walked the Mozárabe from Granada in 2011 and from Almería last year. Was in Córdoba may 12th the first time and the heat was...

From Almeria to Cordoba in November

Hi! I can’t answer your questions about weather but did this Camino last year in April and loved it. The others that answered said to contact Nely and of course you must. The association she belongs to referred to as “the Amigos” is: Asociación Jacobea de Almería Granada Camino Mozárabe. The one...

Where to walk in September and October

Thank you for info! Good to know. Hillier than the first part of the Mozárabe as well? Cause that was quite ok for me last year. (Up - no problems, down - hard on the knees!) Many of the northern routes I’ve been recommended seem hilly. And so beautiful! (been checking them out in different...

Where to walk in September and October

Hmmm… 🤔 That’s one I haven’t heard much about. And very southern! I’ll check it out. Thanks!

Where to walk in September and October

Yes lots of choices indeed! Well the southern route that had the handful of other pilgrims I kind of wanted (as I’m walking alone) was the Mozárabe last year. But I’m not into walking that again so soon. (By the way: Loved that one as well, especially on to Granada. And the organisation in...

Where to walk in September and October

Thanks for suggestions! I have a friend who walked Ruta de la Lana this April-May. Firstly he said that it should be walked in springtime, secondly he met only two other pilgrims on the whole way to Burgos… But I’d like to walk it! Maybe next spring.

Thank you! I’ve considered several of the caminos you suggest. Especially Camino de Madrid. I will check and think more about your suggestions! 🙏🏻

Where to walk in September and October

Hello all! I need advice! Been walking caminos for more than twenty years, sometimes whole ones, long and short, and sometimes parts of longer ones. Always in spring/early summer. (CF, Via de la Plata-Sanabrés, Portugués from Porto, Norte, Camino del sur, Mozárabe de Almería-Vdpl-Sanabrés)...

    Arrows on the VdlP

Generally well marked in my opinion, but you have to keep your eyes open! These ones are very small. The Wise Pilgrim app helped me a lot last time I walked. Especially the online map. Buen Camino! Marit (via de la plata lover)

Planning a Mozárabe Camino Walk in 2022: Guide and Organization Confusions

Good! Since then I have more information about the two associations as I’ve been in contact with both. Seems like there was one that then split into two. Don’t ask me why. Being one they had the Amigos in their name. I think that is why people refer to them. But the one that manages the...

Planning a Mozárabe Camino Walk in 2022: Guide and Organization Confusions

Hello and thank you! I think that I have to start with Facebook. Been avoiding it for years and years but seems good to have when walking this camino for example. Marit

Planning a Mozárabe Camino Walk in 2022: Guide and Organization Confusions

Planning a Mozárabe Camino Walk in 2022: Guide and Organization Confusions

Hello Robi! Thanks! I checked into this site and will most certainly explore it more. But it seems like the asociation they, and your friend, refer to is not the Amigos, but the other one....? Marit

Planning a Mozárabe Camino Walk in 2022: Guide and Organization Confusions

Thank you so much! Not confused anymore! I belong to the few(?) who don't have/use facebook. but in cases like this, to get updated information, I realize that it could be good... But I will definitely get in touch with the Amigos! And now I feel like I'm on my way, after "talking" to you all...

Planning a Mozárabe Camino Walk in 2022: Guide and Organization Confusions

Hi! Have the book, met the author and walked together with him on Via de la plata 2019. He,s not very detailed in the book and says (we still keep contact!) the guide he followed was not so good. And he could'nt use his phone for additional help. But thanks for tip anyway.

Planning a Mozárabe Camino Walk in 2022: Guide and Organization Confusions

Well now I’m even more confused, cause the guide you sent a link to Laurie, I have most certainly seen before. And I think that was on the other website I wrote about. Is it the same association?? But I may have mixed it up. Been reading so much online lately… Marit

Planning a Mozárabe Camino Walk in 2022: Guide and Organization Confusions

Thank you both! Lots of useful information. Yes I realised today that I couldn’t get into that page any longer. Got the same information as you. And couldn’t find it. But a couple of days ago I found lots of information on that site. Even a guide. Strange…! The picture here is a screenshot from...

Planning a Mozárabe Camino Walk in 2022: Guide and Organization Confusions

Hello all! (By the way when do you stop being a ”new member”? Been one since 2010…) I have a dream - to walk the Mozárabe from Almería this year. If only the covid will calm down! As I’m now 70+ , I feel that it’s really time. Who knows when my body doesn’t want to, or isn’t able to, take me on...
