I am one of those people who took the forest path inadvertently many years ago- 2009- - despite having been warned by the Pilgrim Office to avoid it. I don't remember the terrain- perhaps I was too tired or because I came upon a film crew complete with people on horseback who looked like they...
I know there has been lots of discussion about the altus poncho. I have lookedo at the sizing suggestions and wonder if anyone has comments about their accuracy. I am 5 feet 5 inches tall and weigh 112 pounds. My new pack is 36 litres. Supposedly a small would be appropriate. I am most concerned...

I lost a long sleeved top but got it back a few days later from a pilgrim who put it in his pack by mistake. On another Camino I lost a clothesline- left it wrapped up in a blanket. Finally I left a pair of sunglasses in a restaurant and only realized it the next day.
I checked at the post office and the cost of mailing from Canada would nearly double the cost of the skirt. I think you could get a new one on sale shipped from the US at a lower cost.
Question about sizing. Anyone have experience with a small? I am about 5 feet 5 inches and weigh 113 pounds. I am concerned about it being long enough.
I have a Deuter 40+10 pack and the frame which keeps the pack away from your back makes it too large for carryon on Air Canada. After losing it temporarily and having to delay my start by a day on my last Camino, I have downsized to an Osprey 36l without the frame. It has yet to be tested,!
I have always checked my pack as the frame made it too large for carry on. On my last camino, the pack was temporarily lost and I had to skip a day's walking to allow it to catch up. I now have a smaller pack! I have used the bag wrap several times on my trip home when flying out of Bilbao.
I recall that muddy path! Much to our amazement we looked back up the hill once we reached the beach and saw 2 people carrying their bikes down the trail. I seem to recall someone told us there is an alternative path if you want to avoid the mud.
I am interested in hearing from anyone who has walked the San Salvador in August. I am concerned about the heat of summer and what it is like on this route.
One thing that is a real bonus for laundry is those spinning machines that have appeared in some albergues. It is amazing how they wring out the excess moisture and shorten the drying time!
When I finished my first Camino I wanted to celebrate with other pilgrims. After saying good bye to my Camino family, I had a brief period of feeling very sad and lonely. I needed time to readjust. Having said that, it would have been impossible for me to predict that gamut of emotions in...
I had to check my Deuter 40 because it has the back frame and wouldn't fit into the measuring device. Flight delays, rerouting from Toronto and had to delay my start by a day as I waited for my pack to catch up with me in Spain!
It is a truly delightful book. I learned so much about plants and enjoyed the story of his travels! I seem to recall ordering it directly from the author's website.
