I’ve had good luck with this pinch as well. Use in combination with OR’s lightest rain jacket. Together they weigh less than then a gortex jacket and provide lots of versatility in wet and/or cold situations. Agree that the negative is cost but you can find both on sale if you are patient.
I'm about your weight and height and only a year younger. As a Canadian I couldn't get zpack products for my first Camino in 2020 as they only shipped in the US. Went with a Osprey Eja weighing about the same as your Deuter. Managed to limit the weight of the packed bag to 12 pounds. The fit...
I also brought two tops and on set of bottoms. Worked well. Brought two short sleeve merino t-shirts and a set of sleeves from Outdoor Research which had a thumb hole and covered my knuckles. Worked well other than that they slipped down. In part the issue is that I am slight of build and...
It has been suggested on FB that the albergue may be closed for renovations. Can anyone confirm if this correct? If true, any idea of how long it will be closed?
I'm having trouble finding Ribadumia on a map. How far a walk is it beyond Armenteira on the way to Vilanova Arousa (or am I confused as to where this town is?)?
I've started using Airlo as well. Am happy with it but am wondering about using it while on Camino given that it does not allow in-country calling. I called ahead for accommodation a number of times in busy sections of the Camino Frances in 2022. Am planning to walk the Portuguesa in /24 and...
I walked from Santiago to Muxia last year after completing the Camino Frances. Signage was good. People walking from Muxia to Santiago (having gone to Fisterra first) were quite frustrated with the signage. Based on this I'd recommend Santiago, Muxia, Fisterra.
I would recommend CAA. I travel a lot and appreciate that they cover COVID and a reasonable to work with. As part of the insurance coverage they provide a few additional services. Enjoy you Camino.
Walked the entire Camino Frances and then on to Muxia in Hoka Speedgoat 5s in April/May They were great through wet, cold, hot and varied terrain. Brought them home as they still have some tread.
We are in Pamplona. Lots of mask wearing inside which is reassuring. The requirement is being lifted in a week though. Now that the weather is warming up we will be doing more eating outside. Nice that there are peregrinos but not so many that you are worried about being to close.
