Yes, as I remember I walked to Vila do Conde. posted Relive videos of all my stages on the Portuguese las year. Let me see if I can find it. You can find all stages on my Instagram too, with photos. https://www.instagram.com/milena_outandabo
EDIT: Found my thread from the Portuguese but just...
Last year I stayed in Porto for two nights. I walked to Matosinhos and took the “metro” back, without my pack, as a warmup. Than the day afterwards I took the bus out and walked to Vila do Conde. Worked very well.
I walked it last year. Along the ecopista, and split it in two. And found it a nice but a bit boring walk. I stayed in the Pousada de Juventude. It was clean and simple. Rooms with 2 and 2 bunks in them.
You can see my comment in the link. Also others experiences...
I walked the river ecopista and split it in two days staying in Vila Nova de Cerveira (got a stamp at the library 😍 ). It was a lovely walk. A lot of shade and nice totally flat path. But boring, and nothing open along the route. I was even contemplating renting a bike and biking Caminha to Tui :p
Day 15/16 O Milladoiro - Santiago
I started early so that I could get some km done before my fellow pilgrims caught up to me. But walking in pitch dark, all alone, made me sooo fast that I got in to Santiago in record speed. That way I could be the welcoming committee for the rest of the group...
Ok, the updates kind of did not get priority. But here is the rest:
Day 9/16 Tui - O Porrino
First start in the dark. But a lovely day through some woodlands and also some nice little villages. This looks more like the Camino Frances I am used to.
Day 10/16 O Porrino - Redondela
Now the up...
Day 8/16 Vila Nova de Cerveira- Tui
Continued on the river bank for most of the day. More shade than yesterday and peaceful. Valenca vas cute but Tui is beautiful!
Day 6/16 Carreco - Caminha
The day I had an adventure along the Litoral 😂 A bit remote, but lovely. I had told myself I could jump on a train along the way if it became to much for me, but I arrived in Caminha nicely. Stayed at Bom Caminha and had both an amazing massage from Victor and a really...
I think shorts are good! Nice to have that one longer pair as it gets chilly in the evenings.
I am switching in to the central tomorrow. Will be interesting with the heat.
Day 3/16 Vila do Conde - Fao
Nice and relaxing walk. Not to much to rapport 😊Stayed in lovely Spot hostel and enjoyed a meal at a local restaurant with pilgrims that just hit right into my heart. Got the Camino feeling!
Day 4/16 Fao - Anha
Long day for me! It was tough on my feet and hips...
Day 2/16 Matosinhos to Vila do Conde
Now I remember how my Camino body feels 😂 I am in pain and I am stiff as a stick. Tomorrow it will loosen up! It’s just how it is… I looove this!
Day 1/16 Porto to Matosinhos
Lovely walk - I love watching people living in the city going about their daily life. It was hot and humid, so nice to just have a short day.
I am back a my hostel, The House of Sandeman, which I just can’t recommend enough.
Day 0/16 Porto isn’t shy! The perfect energy that I needed. Clapping for the sunset at Jardim do Morro was such a lovely experience. Slow morning at the House of Sandeman before starting my walk.
Another serendipitous moment - I found out that a lady I walked with almost 2 weeks on the Frances last year is doing the Portuguese two days behind me now. We haven't planned this, we didn't talk about it at that, it is Camino magic! She will probably catch up to me since I am slow, if not, we...
