I only just found out about this festival this morning. I will start the Norte in Irun on that date & was wondering why I was having so much trouble finding an affordable bed in San Sebastián. I want to book that first night as I know that it will be a tough first day. So happy that I have a bed...

    Hair

A female in my 60’s I get my hair cut very short by the local barber about every 6 weeks. When I head out on a Camino I get it cut very, very short. I don’t need a comb & never suffer from bed or hat hair. I realise that this may not suit every woman!

Camino Tour Companies - Things to Check?

A friend used a tour company for her camino because she had no confidence in being able to do it on her own, plus she needed luggage transportation. It turned out like ‘Mary’s’. She swears she will never use them again. Unfortunately until you have walked a camino you have no idea of the...

    Not Drinking and Meals

What about writing your concerns simply, in Spanish on a card (use google translate or similar) then you can just show this to the waiter. That should prevent any misunderstanding.

A Camino Story (The Camino Provides)... Do you have one?

My diary entry as we left Belorado in 2009: Fifteen minutes into the walk, and still dark, my stomach starts doing dreadful things - last night's beans? I desperately needed a loo. For the first time, as we walked alongside the main road, we came across a truck stop/service station. Not only...
