What do I know? I am not in your shoes. My only perspective and it could well be wrong: the Camino does not serve you. You serve the Camino. It is the Camino's terms, not yours. Chuck
To a degree, we are spoiled. The original pilgrims, many of them, did not concentrate on gear because they could not afford to buy proper clothing/gear. Some even had to depend, partially, on handouts/charity for their food. We never had it so good.
Thank you for this perspective. Maintaining ATM machines, keeping them stocked with cash, dealing with crooks who put false readers on the machines, dealing with ATM software crooks, etc., this all equates to operational costs. Having said this, looking for reasonable ATM fees is fine.
Etiquette has its place of course but I personally would forego etiquette, especially at my advanced age, and instead focus on repairing myself than attempting to repair others. To me, a much better use of my time. Chuck
Due to you and folks like me, we keep the pharmaceutical companies going. I am thinking . . . perhaps we ought to have a small wagon we carry around that contains our meds.
Apparently Cambridge this not teach this person much or he did not do well in digesting knowledge or wisdom. Further, his reply was anything but civil. Oh well, he was probably human so this explains everything.
Welcome to the world of humans. Even if it changes, it will take centuries at the least if not more. I actually prefer the unpredictable and even irresponsibility of humans. I do not want a world of Spock's and robots--some, but not too many. if these quirks and, yes, even irresponsible...
Giving up is success because it is failure that makes one stronger, more courageous. One who has not encountered failure in life is a failure. Failure is to be celebrated but of course not when one has not learned from the failure.
I am one who 'needs' such reviews as it reinforces what human nature can really be. Can be in the 'good times.' Wait until some 'bad times' surface and see how extreme these people can be. Human nature, deep down, is where one might not want to tread because it can be extreme in its brutish...
Welcome to life--it is never as smooth and drama free as we would like, which is the way it is supposed to be. Things happen. And yes, one can apologize too much. One sincere apology is sufficient. And don't worry, life will throw another similar such incident your way as it comes with being...
Communal venting serves a good purpose and is emotionally, mentally, and physically healthy. Keeping too much inside for too long . . . not good. I believe I read somewhere where Jesus on at least one occasion vented about God, His Father, because as we all know, there has never been a perfect...
Perhaps consider not letting this other person affect and control your behavior, feelings, attitude, etc. You are in charge of responsible and accountable for your own actions, not this other person. By letting this person affect you the way it is happening, he wins and you lose. Overcome...
You define yourself as to who you truly are; do not let others or the outside world attempt to define you. Stay true to yourself and do not concern yourself with 'conforming.'
Possibly do not ask others who are not you; rather, ask yourself since any way of doing the Camino is fine if it suits the person involved. You know more about yourself than any of us do. Even my input ought to be ignored!
Absolutely nothing at all. Since life itself always, without fail, has unexpected surprises around the corner then why would the Camino itself, since it is part of life, not have the same. A surprise, by its very life's nature, is not a surprise.
Oh wait . . . I just surprised myself by...
In my estimation, the fact that you are discombobulated concerning your recent Camino is strong evidence that it has affected you. Perhaps it is asking you to look inward and find out why you are, in a sense, blocking the recent Camino you did. Perhaps you are unwilling to confront what you...
Very perceptive as, very often, the problems/challenges we experience in this world are due to our own, falsely self-created, perceptions if I may humbly so opine. Being able to change or refine our perceptions is an important life-long skill although I have to admit this is an ever-changing...
