How far do most typically walk before resting?

I actually was kinda bad and very rarely stopped to rest no matter how long the day. I don't suggest it, but for me I really struggled to get back going if I took breaks much more than a few minutes. I definitely was not one that could stop and take off shoes and stuff. I do suggest taking...

Imagine living close to Spain and being able to walk a camino whenever you like...

I am in Canada, most jobs aren't that good unless it's a good professional job. The average job for lots of people doesn't even have benefits..... 6 weeks off per year for you, that's definitely rare

Private rooms for a family of three?

Even if you have to pay For a room of four beds (ex 2 bunks) for 3 of you that should be an option many places.... Or you get a dual room, and the third person uses everybody's sleeping gear for the floor

Imagine living close to Spain and being able to walk a camino whenever you like...

And the regular vacation time Canada and the US don't get near the same amount of.

    Bed bugs in El Acebo!

Spraying your bedding doesn't do a whole lot....usually dies after getting to you still. Maybe a bit different with raid, but most products pilgrims use they don't realize won't kill them on contact, so really it helps the next person but not you lol

All the single ladies, all the single ladies

I walked a couple years ago, late 30s by myself. From SJPDP through Santiago to Fisterra and Muxia. I never actually felt unsafe. I had a few early dark mornings that I was high on guard, esp if leaving very early through a bigger city, but never had an actual issue. I walked very few kms...

    Getting Cash on the Camino?

Yes you can go a few days without atms, but never more than a few. More places accept cards now than they use to, but you are correct, many are still cash only. I was just there in Sept/Oct. I carried 500 on me, all in 20s. Kept most in the back part of my pouch so any time I needed cash people...

    Astorga Chocolate in SdC?

Yes I know it's a weird question, but is good local chocolate available in SdC? Im asking because my MIL loves dark chocolate (like 70% or greater). I don't want to pick some up and carry it with me for the remainder of the trip, so looking to pick some up before flying back out of SdC. Any good...

    The CELL PHONE Pilgrims!

Pretty judgemental. Would it be nice if people took part and were open and experiencing more freedom from electronics...probably. You never know what's going on elsewhere, or maybe they have anxidty and it's comforting for the time, etc. If you don't want to do it then don't, but leave others to...

    Passport, Credencial and Certificate Care

Just a couple questions... First, how did you keep your passport and credencial from bending/damaging during your walk? Second, in Sahagun, I have read different answers....has anyone been there recently and can they tell me if you can or cannot buy a tube to keep that certificate from...

    Shoe question

I don't find this humourous at all. This forum is supposed to be a helpful place, yet those of us that aren't in great condition but have goals get mocked, told to cut things short, etc, instead of real advice on how to prepare and reach our goals. (This is not directed at everyone, but I was...
