Compiling a list of refugios that accept tents

https://3fulgear.com/product/lanshan-1-pro/ I have something similar. 700 grams. Say no more.

    August 2020 pilgrim statistics

Yes, started in Pamplona on Wednesday and now in Viana. Many albergues closed but those that are open are at half capacity so there is lots of space for us. Weather OK. So @Kathar1na yes, you are correct. But sometimes it is a long walk for a bed: everything shut between Puente la Reina and Estella

    Ashes to Spain?

You win the internet with this post. Brilliant.

    August 2020 pilgrim statistics

Perhaps we ought not to be so very surprised: because after all there are millions of Spanish not going to work and we can assume that there are many of those who would like to do a Camino, so that is why the vast majority of pilgrims seem to be Spanish and starting in Sarria. When they go back...

    COVID New start dates?

Very much agree with this. UK was told today restrictions unlikely to be lifted by Christmas. Can't see Spain letting us in until they're sure we're not infective. That can't possibly be this current year. May not be next year. And we're not yet sure that even if you've had it and recovered that...

    Lightweight camping gear

800 grams. Laser tent. One pole, easy to put up. Well made. There are various sizes, you choose.

    COVID New start dates?

This is a very considered and sensible reply, and reflects my thinking.

'World's first' coronavirus sitcom to launch in locked-down Spain

Given that one of the funniest ever UK TV sitcoms is Dad's Army, about WW2, and it's still showing to this day, this idea could be very funny indeed. Comedy is all around us. All the time.

    Pilgrimage the road to Istanbul

It seemed to me to be pretty good, with the caveats that there are inevitably "celebrities" to boost viewing figures while I would prefer "ordinary people" who are usually much more interesting. But a nice combination of walking, religion, scenery, and local people who are great. Having said...

    Julian Assange

There are several examples of Spanish prisoners walking the Camino and we can hope they achieve redemption. It seems to work for them. While a volunteer in the pilgrim office last October I met a really nice bloke who arranged these walks for the prisoners. We can hope Assange seeks redemption...

    UK rescue services

Good point about rugby. A quite dangerous pastime. And for tying up police resources you can't get bigger than football matches.

    Starting from the UK

If push comes to shove you could take a picture of yourself by a village sign to show you were there. The pilgrim office staff last October accepted a photo of a couple by the Sarria town sign as proof that they were there, and that Sarria was where they had started from. They also had the...

Post a picture of your credential!

Here is the latest to go on the wall, with the ink slowly fading. And when the ink has almost all done, I'll replace it with another credentia currently in the drawer. And so on......

    Compostela ?

Yes. Present the credentia, you should be awarded the compostela. It doesn't matter when you finished it and when you presented it.

Poll How many km/miles per day do you use to walk in average?

If the weather is bad I start late, have an early and long breakfast then an early and long lunch with an early finish. Maybe 7k on a day like that. Decent temperature for walking, good weather, feeling good, 32k perhaps. Friends stopping at an albergue? I'll probably stop there as well. Feeling...

Poll Where do you come from?

Am living in Europe. Soon not to be. 😠

    UK rescue services

This is an interesting point. The MRT members might argue that once you start putting up signs you have moved into the area where people are looked after, instead of needing to be able to cope with adversity. Then they start saying there was no sign hence there was no danger so they needn't have...

    UK rescue services

The introduction of a fine system and the entry of companies that profited from selling insurance would ensure the exit of just about every volunteer in all the mountain rescue teams in the UK. As it would for the lifeboats, which are manned entirely by volunteers across the UK. Much of the fire...

    UK rescue services

No. No. No. The threat of fines may make some people a bit more cautious of calling for help when they really need it. That'd be disastrous and lead to deaths. And in the UK we don't need an insurance fund for injured rescuers: we have free healthcare and a socially security system.
