Please, please don't remove the Norte from the list. It's unlike any of the other Caminos in the very best way and if anyone ever said to me they could only choose one Camino to do for a lifetime, I would always recommend the CdN.
There are plenty of ways to cut a few days here and there on the...
Hi all,
Does anyone know if one is still technically eligible for a distance certificate if one mixes modes?
I started walking the 'real' camino from my front door last year and would like to walk the rest of Jakobsweg through to France next spring. I'm seriously considering switching to my...
It is absolutely possible to walk the Camino keto if you avoid group meals that you don't cook yourself! It became one of my camino party tricks - cook the dinner so I could always know what's in it ;) Add some bread or potatoes for everyone else and you're golden. Or you eat cold and hearty...
This was exactly my thought process. I want to do the Norte again but need to have other experiences of the Camino before I go back. People always said I must walk the Meseta, so that's my plan. Both Great and Different.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA truer words were likely never spoken on this end of the forum ;)
Hahaha, so true. I meant it completely literally though: I came back and changed my job, apartment, friendship group (out with the toxic, in with the new perspectives) and opinion of myself. Not sure I want...
I cannot be the only one. I just can't be.... right? In 10 days I will touch down in Madrid and bus to Burgos; the next day my CF will begin. Two years ago I walked a life-changing CdN from Hendaye to Finisterre in 35 days.
I know how this goes. I know what I need to pack. I know that it won't...
Due to allergies, I tend to sort 60-70% of my own meals (fruit, cheese, fuet/salami/jamón, boiled eggs, dark chocolate, nuts, etc. paired with a knife, foldable silicone 'tupperware' and a mug are my staples for kitchen-less meals) but cold mornings will almost always have me joining the others...
Thanks guys, that isn't an option I'd considered. @Davey Boyd and @Marc S. I guess my concern with the Salvador is that it'll be very quiet that time of year - but I know next to nothing about it! I'm not one to want to walk all day without seeing anyone; I've experienced more than enough of...
I miss walking the Camino. A lot. So rather than continue my walk through Germany and France to get to Spain in the three weeks I can take off next Easter/start of May, I'm wanting to fly down and spend that time in Iberia. I've walked about 1400km on the Camino so I wouldn't consider myself a...
In six hours time, I will wake up to receive the keys to my new apartment. It will at the same time be a year since I stopped at the bridge that divides France and Spain, Hendaye and Irun, ate my first cold breakfast on the Camino, cried at my own silliness for embarking on such a harebrained...
Ok, so the Camino might actually have made me crack my nut. Today I sat at my desk and, 8 months after arriving in Finisterre after my CdN, I've decided to walk from my front door.
There is one problem: I can't just take 4 months off to walk Berlin-Leipzig-Paris-St Jean/Bayonne-Santiago(-Muxia)...
