I think you made a good choice. The Primitivo is lovely and a lot of it is shaded. Unfortunately, there is quite a bit on asphalt that is unshaded. I found a solar umbrella is a great add on and worth its 9 ounce weight!
May I suggest stopping in Palatino the first night rather than Grado...
It’s the primary symptom for many! Sleep apnea is almost epidemic in the USA these days and considered by many cardiologists and pulmonologists to be a contributing factor in heart issues. CPAP helps alleviate snoring.
Perhaps with the evolution of transport services, the Camino is now more doable to those who may never have considered taking on the challenge because of needing to carry their pack. Statistics are definitely showing a rise in the number of pilgrims!
Although that may be generally true, it’s not the case for those of us that have an allergic reaction (which certainly looks like it from the photo).

Last June on the Primitivo a Polish gentleman showed me that if I apply insect repellent on my hat (he had a stick version as opposed to spray or lotion) the flies stayed away! This year I’m bringing my own and don’t have to apply it to my skin.
Municipal albergues may not have private rooms, but many private ones do. I stayed exclusively in private rooms and enjoyed some communal meals and fellowship every night. I booked most on booking dot com.
