Descent into Roncesvalles as opposed to Foncebadon-Molinaseca
We found the descent into Zubrini on day 2 worse than the Napoleon the day before! Perhaps because of too few. Stops or foods-breaks but the drop was too much for my wife's knee! Is starting from Pamplona 'cheating'...?
Not cheating at all! We had to 'short-cut' the Mesata for similar reasons, then ended up extending each days walk till we ended up in Santiago Early! After 7 days the body adapts, your routines begin to help and the friends around you start a wave of strength! But go with your own thoughts...- Andrew James Doyle

Most challenging sections on the Camino Frances
Completely agree with the drop to Zubiri! It was wet, steep and a long day! My Mrs had twited her knee so ever step down hurt and the exuberance of the day before had worn off some! What part of Camino would you not do?
This is uncannily similar to what we have just come back from ! We started at St JPP on April 26th with great intentions to walk all but the Mesata section due to time concerns of only 4 weeks! My wife twisted a knee on day 2 down into Zubiri! we carried on in a more steady way for 4 more days...- Andrew James Doyle
