This one caught my eye, I knew there would be a wide range of funny responses and I wasn’t disappointed. I used to walk on stilts when I was a young teenager… I was short, I needed to see more of the world around me…
Depending on the camera type (a phone or a camera) the EXIF information stored with each photo can be useful. Iphones for example (and other devices with inbuilt GPS locators) store the lat/lon of the photo position in the EXIF data, which is viewable with the better photo viewing apps (not the...
Ironic that the certificate mentions bicycles in “Latin”. Bicycles were not exactly an available mode of transport in ancient Rome. According to Wikipedia, the first bicycle known of was made and used in 1817. I suppose in the future they will need to find a “Latin” word for skateboards and...
Well done, I was a few weeks ahead of you, arrived at SdC on 8th October. You did well, keeping on walking despite the injury. I saw a few injured people, some had to go home, others stayed the distance.
You can update your status now to show you have completed CF!
regards, Andrew
I second the recommendation for the bar in the square at Espinal. Enjoyed breakfast there in August and the food was even better with the Jazz being played. Ymmv.
And to finish my Camino on a nice note, I called in at Casa Ivar to collect a parcel I had sent there, met Ivar and thanked him for running this forum.

It was open the night I was in Religeos, about 20th September 2019.
I found it disappointing. Allowing customers to scrawl sillly things on the walls in marker pens may be open-minded, but it doesn’t make for a coherent story or even one where you will feel comfortable. Some authors don’t...
I managed to post about a dozen photos from each day of my recent Camino from SJPP to SdC. I finished a week ago.
I was posting to a Wordpress blog at the address https://walkdontrun.travel.blog. I reduced the photos to 900 px wide before adding them to the blog. That was done using the app...
For closure. I completed the Camino Francés on Tuesday 8th October, making it 43 elapsed days from SJPP with 4 rest days all up. I carried my pack all the way but sent several boxes of excess items by post. I used the bus from Leon to Astorga saving 40 km and two days as I was concerned I would...
Thanks for the suggestions re the pack adjustments. I have tried adjusting various things and concluded it was sitting well. But I noticed that moving two light items out of the pack and onto my belt at the front did reduce the pain. So at Leon I packed up some items I could say were not...
I stayed at Casa Magica early September and it was very good. Only 4 beds in the room I was in. Maybe a fifth was there but empty.
a few people got into the pool to cool off. It was a hot day. My washing dried and I slept ok. What more can you ask? ;)

The wording of the rule about two stamps per day is slightly ambiguous in my guide book. I looked at the official website of the pilgrims office.
https://oficinadelperegrino.com/en/pilgrimage/the-compostela/
This satisfied my questions about the two stamps per day rule.
Hi Lydia,
I’ll try to remember and see I can find it. It’s a few days ahead for me. But I don’t think I will be there next Sunday. Let’s see.

This so reminds me of a satirical (fake) examination. One of the questions was:
“On your desk is a red button. Start WW3. Comment on the socio-politico consequences, if any. “
Caution - satirical response from Leon, in rain. Do not ascribe any meaning to this post.
Approaching Leon now, expecting to spend two night there.
The last two hundred km have gone quickly and I’ve managed to walk over 20km most days. I have a pain in my upper back which is apparently due to my pack, about 10kg. I will either post forward some items when at Leon, or start to use...
I’m a few days behind you, Nancy.
Wishing you a more Conventional experience in the rest of your Camino.
I’m considering the pack transport option. I’m getting pains from my pack and think it might be time to do something about it.
Buen Camino.

Now at Belorado and enjoying a beer before a meal. Updated the blog with today’s pics.
Thanks to those who have sent positive comments on the photos etc. posting to the blog avoids having to send pics to individual family and friends, or here.
