Ah you just can’t beat Casa Susi in Trabadelo. The best by a country mile!!! Incredible hosts; low numbers and absolutely superb food. You will not find better!! In my not so humble opinion!!! Liam
If ever doing Camino Francés again I would walk from SJPDP on Day 1 to overnight in Orisson for two reasons; it shortens that long long climb and gives one great chance to meet people at the communal meal. And away you go then.
Hi. Did I see a poster somewhere on C Frances this year of bridges on the Camino? I am sure I did; it looked super. Maybe it can be located online.

Hi and delighted to hear you are ready to start. You have received tons of wise suggestions; not sure if I can add anything. If you only have 24 days and assume going at the Brierley pace of 33 days then you need to 'skip' 9 stages!! My suggestion would be to 'skip' those in one block early on...
Suggestion. Consider staying at Orisson on first night out of St Jean. It will require booking. The double benefits are it will shorten that brutal walk over the mountain and you get to meet lovely people who will be setting out with you in the morning. Just my tuppence worth!! You’ll love it!!
I walked that section of CF in May/June; Burgos to Santiago. I walked 21 days. It’s just over 500km. Of course everything is relative but averaging 25 kms per day was comfortable and just to my liking. I hope to return next May with my wife and we will probably repeat same 500 kms. There are...
In my opinion it might feel better, as noted above, to pick a stretch say from Leon and walk all of from there. You will be in a flow of pilgrims; you will feel that sense of community and meeting people again and getting to know them. Skipping sections might feel disruptive and you are then...
Ah no. You can have your pack transferred ahead each day for €5.00. Its am amazing service and certainly worth a fiver when one is tired. That's one possible answer.

This is a silly suggestion given the info you have presented but ...... is it possible to put back your flight home by a week or so and then you have chance to do it all in your own time. Just a thought!!
Greetings all the way to Australia!!
I walked from St Jean to Burgos last September and my humble suggestion would be to divide the first day to Roncesvalles into 2 days. My plan is to go back in August/Sept this year and there is no way I am hitting my body with that 18 km climb from St Jean...
I walked from St Jean to Roncevalles last September. It’s a long hard walk. If and when I go back I would certainly stop in Orisson for two reasons: 1 It shortens that long climb and 2 there’s a good chance of getting to meet pilgrims. That’s my plan anyhow. Liam
I stopped in Ventosa after an enforced days rest due to blisters in Sep[tember this year. It worked well; I was all fired up the following day to get flying again!! Rest can be great!! Buen Camino
When I was Camino Frances in September I met pilgrims who only had the printed list of albergues from the Pilgrim Office in St Jean. This ofyen proved limited. Luckily I also had on my iPhone the apps, Frances, Buen Camino and Camino Places. I found accommodation lists under the apps which was...
