Oh this is all excellent to hear. I really want to make sure I have enough to get me safely through the journey without being short and worrying about it. I wish I had the faith to do it all without worrying but for me the planning is really important.
I would like to budget no more than 40Euros a day...that is with staying on the weekends in a private room to rest (long story won't go into it) and then to have a reserve of 20Euro's a day for reserve incase something comes up... Well more than the extra per day having some money in the bank...
This is an older thread but perhaps we could revive it. I am now starting to plan for next year (finally) and wondering ...from those who travelled this year...what the average cost per day was when you were walking. ANY information is much appreciated...detail even better!
I read this again and again and its made me plan (yes I am planning again lol) to do it differently than most. I think I am going to time it so that I arrive after a rest. My idea is to walk 5 days rest 2 and plan it so that its in the places I REALLY want to explore. I am doing this more...
I've been messaged twice about this privately so I want to go on the record ...and to restate the obvious...that this is about food not politics. There is a vast difference when comparing food to political issues that face a country. I am not saying anyone is right or wrong, or that their...
Welcome home and well done! I would love to hear about your journey when and if you have the energy to tell. When its fresh it's always so ...not even sure how to say it...one can feel the emotion ...the spirit of the walk coming off the words of the page. I am sure I speak for everyone...

Thing about food/stars/ratings on anything really is personal preference and personal perspective. I have dined at 5 star restaurants that totally unimpressed me and at little out of the way shacks serving home cooked meals that were to die for. It all depends on what you like. Stars don't...
When I lived in Jamaica no one at all stored eggs in the fridge...many didn't have a fridge. I also was used to seeing people leave food out overnight including fried chicken or fish...covered of course... and it never made anyone sick. I think we have become overly concerned with germs and...
Good news indeed. Yes please people, old or young, make planned arrangements for calls and emails. The worst thing is not knowing and while you are having a great time for the 5 or 6 days you are in your own head space...the head space of the people who are waiting to hear if you are ok is...
Have you heard from your daughter yet? I am praying that she is safe and will be nudged by some angels to pick up the phone and call her Dad!
Stay in peace ...don't be afraid...big hugs from Canada.
My heart aches for his family...my heart rejoices in his journey...his Camino has just begun. My sincerest condolences to his family and friends. I will continue to lift them to Jesus for comfort and may our Camino brother rest in sweet peace.
You know there is not a single day that goes by since I have been back on the forum and since Denise disappeared that the whole crime issue has not been thought about by the majority if not all of us. But there are many threads in this forum that discuss it and although I especially appreciate...
