    Always ask as you get to the albergue and you'be given a bottom bed. I suffer from asthma and always request a top bed so that I can leave the window open. The length of the bed might be a problem as my husband finds the beds too short and he is 6'3".

Maybe your wife's medical practitioner could prescribe her some preventative medication...

    You are definitely a pilgrim. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. The effort, blisters, rain, blistering sun, companionship, friendship, love etc. were all the same whether you did 100 or 800km.

    Although knowing how far to go is interesting information I just liked to see them. Specifically the signs on the Camino de Madrid with the cows on them were always a pleasure to look at. I've even got a great photo to remind me.

    Don't let anyone tell you that!!! Whether short or long it is the emotional and mental reaction that is supposed to mean something to you. Your Compostela at the end is wonderful proof of your accomplishment and if you frame it and hang it somewhere where you'll see it every day your memories...
