Where was this photo taken? (filming "The Way")

It's not very clear but it looks like there are the beehive shaped buildings in the background common in La Rioja. That's my guess, but I could be wrong. You can see a clearer picture of one here: https://ourcaminoturtlewalk.wordpress.com/2018/10/02/day-13-la-rioja-region-of-spain/ I will...

Which pilgrim passport/credencial has the nicest design?

That‘s interesting. Sponsoring the albergue is something I never would have thought of but would consider if I could afford it. I really think the albergue in Rabanal is a special place on the camino. I am hoping to volunteer there too, maybe next year.

Which pilgrim passport/credencial has the nicest design?

I would think you could use it if you could get one. Loads of people use the French one and Spanish ones after all. I amagine it would be quite hard to get a New Zealand one outside of the country though.

Which pilgrim passport/credencial has the nicest design?

It is quite expensive (30 pounds a year) but I was lucky and was given membership as a gift last Christmas so I will get a credencial from them this year. I think I will renew my membership despite the cost as the albergue at Gaucelmo was one of my favourites and the organisation does really...

Which pilgrim passport/credencial has the nicest design?

Thanks for this. I find it really interesting to see other people's credencials. Every one is unique.

Which pilgrim passport/credencial has the nicest design?

I really like the look of the Irish one. I never saw one in real life though, even though I met a few Irish people on the Camino last year.

Which pilgrim passport/credencial has the nicest design?

People often talk about which of their stamps they like the most, but there are also many different designs of credencial. Last year I used the French credencial from the pilgrim's office in SJPdP and in 2017 I used the credencial provided by the cathedral in Santiago. I like both of these but...

Some amusing graffiti on the slog into Leon

If I‘d seen any donkey carts I would have taken the ride dor sure. More fun than the bus!

Some amusing graffiti on the slog into Leon

I completely agree with this. I don‘t and didn‘t judge anyone for taking the bus or any other form of transport. Everyone has to make the decisions that are right for them and everyone‘s Camino is personal. I totally respect that 😊

Some amusing graffiti on the slog into Leon

Type 2 fun is a very apt way of describing it! The whole walk into Leon was one of the most memorable of my trip and if I could go back I wouldn‘t change a thing.

Some amusing graffiti on the slog into Leon

I completely understand. My first ever experience of the Camino was cycling back in 2006. On that trip I got sick for one day and had to take a taxi 15 km. I was so annoyed about it afterwards that I went back the following year and did it all. This time I was walking and knew I would regret...

Some amusing graffiti on the slog into Leon

Haha! It wouldn't surprise me. A lot of people looked like they's had enough that day! The funny thing is I find the hard days some of the most rewarding, it just doesn't feel that way until it's over.

Some amusing graffiti on the slog into Leon

I'm not one to condone graffiti on the Camino but this was very subtle and made me smile on an otherwise miserable day. I was walking from El Burgo Ranero to Leon and left the albergue before dawn as I had a long way to walk. Ten minutes after setting off I see lightening flashes all around me...

The good, the bad & the ugly. Part 2

This was a huge highlight for me too, I have never experienced anything like it and it was beautiful. The tiny crumbling church was also probably my favourite on the whole route. I loved how plain it was. The place just had an atmosphere thelt special and spiritual. I got to chat to one of the...

    Diversion of route outside León

I walked this route in the rain just over a week ago. In the rain the dirt turns to thick sticky clay which is almost impossible to walk on and makes a real mess of your shoes, There were a group of us sliding about in the mud on that slope! There was a queue at the next water fountain in town...

    Wheels or not

I saw someone pushing a pram full of his kit up the Alto del Perdón last summer. It's possible, but looked like very hard work in the heat! I'm also not sure how he would have manages on the steep and rocky downhill section coming down from the summit. On the other hand there are long stretches...
