    SAINT-JEAN (1st Day) failure rate 40%?!

Please don’t worry too much about the first day. There are some steep bits but it is mainly a long upward slog. Just take your time, stop and enjoy the views! Within two weeks you will be running up such steep stretches! Good luck and Buen Camino!

Coming to the Camino Frances, a flood of tour groups

On my first Camino in 2008 I saw plenty of what I termed ‘Parador Pilgrims’. They weren’t a problem then it in 2017. My only hang up is using in my opinion a sacred pilgrimage route for fundraiser purposes.

Tips for securing a bed at Albergue de La Faba during the busy September season on Camino Frances

Hello, it was way back in 2008 that I stayed in Albergue de La Faba. Run by the German Confraternity of St. James, I found the albergue to be clean and comfortable. There was a bar serving a pilgrims meal just a short walk from the albergue. Hope this helps.
