Same thing happened to me not far from Najera in June. In Spain it is fairly easy to buy Betadine, which is an iodine-based antiseptic, and very effective. I just put a few drops every night on top of the falling nail and the liquid by itself went under it. No injection needed. Also it was...
A few years ago I slipped and fell just outside the Oviedo Cathedral. In great pain I took a taxi to the nearest hospital. I had an X-Ray taken to determine the damage, and it turned out I broke a bone in my upper arm and needed an operation. For the hospital to be able to operate on me I needed...
Arrived today in Puente la Reina, the albergue Padres reparadores Is open, with a 50% limit. Weather is great,
It is not necessary to reserve, the albergues that are open have very few pilgrims and could use more.

I have walked the Norte twice, and met wonderful friends I still am in contact with. Less crowded perhaps than CF, but still not at all lonely. It is a very beautiful Camino, especially if you like coastal scenery.
July 2016 I walked the norte Irun-Baamonde, could not finish in Santiago as I had to fly back on a certain date. So next year I am planning a shorter walk to avoid another heart break. It was so so sad to watch my Camino family walk away while I had to take the bus!
