I have three winter camino Frances under my belt with number 4 coming up in January. Crocs are the way to go. Light, warmer then sandals and you can walk in them if you need a break from your boots. I walked with a pilgrim in early March who wore them the entire way instead of boots
Fantastic parades and local celebrations. I was in the large city of Leon for Holy Thursday/Good Friday twice and was able to get a bed in an albergue without a problem. Smaller towns will definitely not be a problem. March is great because you get to know most of the pilgrims traveling the same...
Have done the CF three times all starting around the first of March. No need for reservations. Be prepared for snow in the high elevations. I love Semana Santa. Plan to go again in March 2023
Does any one know of an open albergue between Ronce and Pamplona Jan 23 2020. I have found open albergues for every other stage for my French Way in Jan/Feb except this one. Thanks
Walking the French Way from SJPDP Starting Jan 22 until Feb 26. Anyone planning on a winter Camino during the same time frame?

6-7 days of walking. Very well marked so no need of a guide. A guide book is handy but not necessary. Can get transportation back to st Jean or directly to a major city from Logrono.

fairly heavy snow the first day at the higher elevations and a few days of light snow. Only had light rain a couple of times. Had a few very cold nights in alberges with no heat. Fairly cool most of the time so hiked with a jacket on. No sweat and no bugs. Had a great time so I am going...
Do the nuns in Carrion De Los Condes at the Santa Maria parish albergue sing year round or only in the summer. I will be passing thru around march 26th. Thanks
