The best way to deal with soggy, (or dry), tissues is to use your walking stick and poke it into the ground where it will degrade a lot more quickly and not be unsightly in the meantime.
I think that definitely I would recommend 2 pairs of trousers, be they long or Capri, ( the roll ups are good, the zip-offs are a waste of time for me).

I was told that, unlike elsewhere in Spain where there is a two week limit, at Santiago the post office will hold mail and packages for 4 weeks. We did this and had no problem, sending things on for just on a month in advance.
