Did anyone regret walking the Camino?

Shame the thread starter never came back and told us of his experience. No real regrets from me ... I made mistakes, and would have things I would change about each Camino, but certainly not regrets. I enjoyed the all, for different reasons.

    Waking up in the night

My advice: DONT get a place near the bathroom - NO WAY. Because everyone else will disturb you when they go. Best spot is furthest away from the bathroom ... that way nobody walks past you to go to the toilet. You cant always be sure of a bottom bunk either. If you are young(er) and...

Quick “The Way” synopses (and tribute)

The BBC have done two series of The Pilgrimage now. I've watched them, and I know 'everyone walks their own Camino', but when the voiceover says, "Today's the celebrities will walk their longest day, 13km", I kinda shudder.

Lessons learned after 900 km on the Camino

Great list, thanks for sharing ... interesting to read. I'll add something: It didnt matter to me where I slept, it was more about who I shared with. The most beautiful albergue was terrible if I had someone snoring loudly next to me. Wine? 1lt cartons / Tetrapaks for around 1 Euro! Anything...

How many days walking for Camino Frances

I'll add something to the mix that nobody else has mentioned. Jetlag. I travel east often, and in my experience, flying east is terrible for jetlag. On that basis I'd be tempted to add 3 days in Paris to allow yourself time to adjust. Albergues can be hard (for some) to sleep in ... I'd hate...

    Pilgrim passport, number of stamps

This is a long thread, I'll add my experience, and my last Camino has only just ended. I spent 50 days on the Caminoo, walking the Norte, then onto Muxia, Finesterre and walked back. I had one stamp a day, and got both certificates no problem, with the distance showing as 1057km. This was my...
