I have just recently completed my Camino and reached the Holy City on October 16th. after 6 weeks on the trail. My Camino was spread out over a year and divided into 3 parts. In October 2008, I walked from SJPP to Logrono and during April and May of this year, I walked from Santo Domingo to...
I am very surprised to read that an Irish pilgrim has left the Camino with such negative experiences. For me, the Camino has restored my faith in humankind, such was the friendless and hospitality that I experienced on my way. I have made wonderful 'amigos' of all nationalities.
So he/she met...
I will be restarting my Camino in Astorga in September. As my first credential is almost used up, I will be starting with a new Irish credential. Do I need to have this new credential verified in Astorga and where can I do this?
Thank You
Paul
There is a brand new alberque just opened in Fromista called ' Estrella del Camino. It is attached to the Hostal Camino de Santiago. I stayed there and I found it to be a first class facility. I would recommend it. They provide breakfast, but one must book and pay for it the previous evening...
Hello Everyone - Greetings from downtown Belorado!
I am on day 2 of part 2 of my Camino and enjoying every minute of it. I started in Santo Domingo and I plan to finish in Leon or Astorga in 3 weeks. The weather here at the moment is cool and cloudy but no rain so far. Its great to be back...
From my experience of walking part of the Camino in October 2008 from SJPP to Logrono, I would like to nominate the following albergues as my favourites: Trinidad de Arre (Pamplona), Camino del Perdon (Uterga), Bodega del Camino (Lorca), Oasis Trails ( Villamayor de Monjardin) and Casa Mari (...
Hello Nick
Welcome to the Forum. To answer some of your questions, the nearest airport to St. Jean Pied de Port is Biarritz. As regards walking in January and Februray, I cannot offer any advice as I started my camino in October but I would imagine that crossing the Pynenees in the height of...
Congratulations and well done Isabelle.
I was getting a bit concerned about you as we did not hear from you for a few weeks. I am really looking forward to reading your blog and seeing some more of your photos. You must have had some really interesting experiences along the way since we parted...
Isabelle
Reading your latest post, I am delighted that you are doing so well and that you are now more than half way to Santiago. I really enjoyed your company in the hostels that we stayed in and also our climb over Alto del Perdon.
You are going well at 22 to 24kms per day and 28kms in one...
Hello Nicole
Thank you for your kind words. I have met and walked with Isabelle from Cizor Menor to Uterga on Wednesday Oct. 8th. . She is getting on fine and enjoying the camino.

Hello Forum Members
I am now a week into my Camino having started in SJPP on Oct 3rd. It is one of the most extraordinary experiences that I have had in my lifetime. The people that I have met and the places that I have seen, I will never forget them. Speaking as a 57 year old not too fit...
I would like to thank each one of you for your valuable advice on walking the Valcarlos Route. I feel that this route is for me as it is not as steep as Route Napoleon and I will be able to stay overnight in Valcarlos. Again many thanks!
Paul
I am starting my Camino on October 3rd from SJPP. I feel that the Route Napoleon would be too difficult for me and I am wondering if any forum members have followed the Valcarlos Route to Roncesvalles. I am planning to spend a night in Valcarlos and continue on to Roncesvalles the next day...
Is it possible to spend more than 1 night in an albergue? I feel that I might like to rest up for a day and catch up on my washing and just chill out! I will be doing the Camino in October.
