    Thank you Camino Angel

This is superb advice, another variation I have done on this (on the advice of a physiotherapist) is to go into a supermarket half way (or at one third intervals on a long day) and buy a bag of ice (plentiful and cheap) and a strong carrier bag and add some water and make an ice bath for your...

What is your favorite Portuguese caminho ?

To answer your question in a very narrow context. I have done 4 Caminos north of Porto ( 1 Coastal and 3 Centrals...I think I've already answered the question) I have also walked some of the path north of Faro I preferred the Central for a number of reasons: 1) I found it more traditional and...

LIVE from the Camino Day 1, Camino Portugués Central

In my experience on the The Central you will have a lot more interaction with other pilgrims....give it a few days. Definitely more so thatn the Coastal where people will swap between the Coastal and the Literal. Tesla is the best selling pure electric car brand in Portugal and sold circa...

    Braga to Ponte de Lima

I'm sold on the two towns but I will not be making a diversion as such.... If I do it I will walk part of the Torres Camino which passes through these towns and then converges with the Central in Ponte de Lima anyway

    Braga to Ponte de Lima

Thanks The Torres to the Central is definitely a good idea for anybody maybe doing a 2nd CP with the chance to take in the two historic cities of Braga and Guimarães. I think I'll strongly consider this next time round.

Bag Delivery and Accommodation Tips for Camino Portuguese from Porto in May

I used Tuitrans for 3 Caminhos and found them brilliant, however I used Caminofacil for my last Caminho as they were 40% cheaper and just as good. Their interactive user-friendly website was another advantage over Tuitrans

Good suggestion by Dilbin; Groze is a really good site ( just use the translate function in your browser ) it will show both the Central and Coastal Caminos and suggested stages but adapt as you see fit. https://www.gronze.com/camino-portugues I also recently came across Godesalco which is...

Just a little advice needed on the Coastal Option (Litoral / Coastal)

Thanks Everybody I have mapped out my stages as below based on daily distances and I've seen lots of people get very in depth about whether to go the Coastal or Litoral routes and I have come to the conclusion that as they both appear to frequently converge at key stopover Towns / Villages...

Coastal or Central, for best scenery?

I'm a novice so loathe to give advice..I did the Central Caminho from Ponte De Lima last year to SDC , there were some lovely stages on it - experiencing the Labruja and Coura valley between PDL and Rubiaes was lovely and also the Caldas and Padron stage. With not a scintilla of disrespect to...

15 days on the Camino Portugues

Sarit, I think the advice from Jcruzz is spot on - you should easily be able to walk from Porto to SDC in your time frame - I did the Central last year starting from the beautiful town of Ponte de Lima and 7 days and 152Km's later I was in SDC and took in some great spots along the way (Valenca...
