I used the Wise Pilgrim app when I did the Norte earlier this year. I worked great and I highly recommend it. IMHO apps are better as they are more easily updated than paper guidebooks.
If you want a route that is less busy you might consider the Camino Ingles. It is 5 days from Ferrol to Santiago. It is another 4 days or so from Santiago to Finisterre/Muxia AND it is a beautiful walk. Or you could do part of the Portuguese. You don't need to use a travel company--you can do...
When you are in Lisbon make sure to visit Castelo Sao Jorge. It's not too far up the hill from the Cathedral. We enjoyed not only the castle but the surrounding historical areas. BTW...we stayed at the Pensao Central near Rossio Plaza. The location was good...near a train station (sorry can't...

Gee I wish I were going the same time as you. I am not going until September. I love your post and I think it is awesome you are making the time to make the trip. Much luck....please keep us posted on your adventures.

I do plan to mail the stuff before we get to SJPP to avoid international postage. We will have to store it for almost 30 days so will probably send it to you Ivar. I can't imagine our stuff weighing more than 5 kg, so this seems the...
