Hi I’m not yet decided. Half way through the Portuguese (Lisbon start) tore my calf muscle before Porto so resting up to heal it hoping to to finish the portuguese and see what next.
You will be rewarded Pilar for walking a slow(er) Camino. I’ve walked more than 1 Camino and in October I’ll start walking from Lisbon to Santiago. It’s the first time I have reserved accommodation the first half. Don’t worry about others comments or attitudes. I also used to walk 30+ km daily...
I checked last week, Alpriate albergue is closed. I will walk to Sacevem take the train to Alhandra and walk 5 km to sleep first night in Vila Franca de Xira to avoid having to back track plus avoid roadside walking stage1-2 which I’ve been told can be dangerous (been there, done dangerous...
I’m definitely looking forward to all that you describe and bring open to taking routes as the covid situation permits. I will return from santiago to Lisbon some on foot on the route(a) I ended up not taking going to Santiago.
Hi, I’m flying to Lisbon from Montreal on Oct 7th, starting to walk Oct 9th…..je ne parle pas Le Frances mais je comprends beaucoup. Je parle l’espagnol très bien mais je comprende beaucoup de Portuguesa. If you wish to communicate with me about starting on oct 9th I sent you a private message...
Starting my Camino Portuguese Oct 9th from Lisbon. Seriously considering taking the train a couple of stops given the lack of accommodation on stage 1 in Alpriate plus the heavy road walking. If you’re starting I’d be happy to meet up in Lisbon on Oct 7-8th.
Great! Would you share your plans with me re: accommodation and stages? I’m doing at my plans now. Thanks. If you wish to do it privately I’ve sent a Private Conversation message so it’s just us. Thanks
I’m starting from Lisbon around Oct 10th. I’m curious what your accommodation plans are for the first few stages (no open albergue in Aplriate…..option is hotel in Santa Iria vs training it back to Lisbon or ahead). Thanks. And Buen Camino! After spending 4 months in the Algarve in prepandenic...
I hope to « warm up » (the legs) by doing the Portuguese in November. I’ve considered a start in Almeria. I want a long Camino that takes in spring but want to be finished 8na relaxed way mid April. Thanks for the suggestions. I’m not into heat at all.
Thank you, I’m thinking best would be a February start, mostly for me it’s about not being totally alone & getting caught in flooding rivers vs the cold/snow. I am totally flexible so will adapt to weather forecast. I’ll be in Spain/Portugal until April 30th so can walk a shorter southern...
Thanks Mike, so weather-wise it was ok? Being Canadian cold for me is different plus I’ve only walked Feb or March start Caminos. Any advice or guidance will be greatly appreciated. Colette
