I want to walk the Camino

You don't need much. Airfare and train, bus money from where you are coming from. Comfortable shoes with good soles, a pack that fits well and isn't too large. A few clothes, soap, rain poncho. I spent a few months reading the forum and using search (it's in the upper right corner of the page)...

Debbie. try zappos on line. Order what you think will fit or like - return what doesn't fit right out of the box, too heavy, to flimsy, doesn't feel comfy or you don't like.

We (husband and I) will also begin walking in Sept of this year. Barcelona on the 6th, St Jean on the 9th. In some ways I am already walking. Planning, putting less and less in the backpack, walking several miles a day with my pack, setting a few days of reservations at the beginning - then...

    Transportation from Santiago to Paris

The train sounds lovely. We took the TVG from Paris to Barcelona a couple of years ago, great way to see the landscape and enjoy a relaxing journey. And it didn't take all that long, about 6 hours total.

    Now it's Real.

I went to the site and figured out everything backwards. LOL. We will have time for a nice lunch in Pamplona. As you can see, I am not in hurry mode. If I hurry I will not make it. Start slow, go slow, get there. We will walk the Frances.
