    Dublin to La Puy

I think Limoge will be closest if you can get a direct flight there. If not then Lyon. Then get a train from either of those places. (I haven't done it but I am looking into doing Le Puy myself right now.)

From San Sebastian to St Jean Pied de Port

I just took a cab to Hendaya and trained in from there.

Anybody staying Corazon Puro April 11th?

I saw a post - years ago - from a woman who complained that she hadn't made a single friend on the Camino and that people were not as friendly as everyone said they would be. All I could think was that she hadn't been very friendly. As with everyday life - you have to be brave and put yourself...

Anybody staying Corazon Puro April 11th?

You will connect! When you arrive you will see lots of other apprehensive peregrino/as with whom you will connect. Nearly everyone else will also be doing all of this for the first time and they'll be excited and hoping to connect just as you are.

From which station in Madrid do I depart from, destination Pamplona?

Just google "hotels near Atocha". I can't remember the name of the place where we stayed but it was a 10 minute walk to Atocha in the morning and I think it was about 90 euro for both of us. There are a ton of places near it.

What city to fly into from USA to start my Camino?

Oops - sorry. That constitutes a small town in Texas even if it were not a "region". I am from a small town in West Texas that has about 300,000 people in it, for instance. I am just going by my own experience. I took a bus from Hendaya to Bayonne and the train into SJPP. My only other...

What city to fly into from USA to start my Camino?

I think they were just talking about which airport to fly into in Paris. Trains are like planes - you can go first class or not. I took the TGV train from Paris to Pau earlier this month and I bought a first class round trip ticket. It cost 162 euro. It left Paris at 11:30 and arrived in Pau at...

What city to fly into from USA to start my Camino?

You can take the subway from CDG (Charles de Gaulle) to Montparnasse Station. There are people in the airport who will assist you in finding the right train. Once you are on the TGV (the fast, direct train) to Bayonne you will hear announcements for stops. In most places you can see the name of...

What city to fly into from USA to start my Camino?

There are two airports in Paris ... Charles de Gaulle and Orly. I have never flown into Orly. There is a third about 100 km outside of Paris that Ryanair flies out of....you need to take a bus out to it that costs about 40 euro. I don't recommend it.

What city to fly into from USA to start my Camino?

We flew into Madrid and spent the night and caught the train the next morning for San Sebastian, where we spent the night and had dinner before taking a bus to Bayonne and another train to SJPP. That train to San Sebastian took forever. Taking the TGV from Montparnasse station in Paris directly...

    Baggages - Walking Poles

I checked my pack. They put it in a large plastic bag for me in Dallas and it was fine when we arrived in Madrid. I bought excellent poles in Pamplona and when we flew out I begged some boxes from a restaurant at the airport and created a hard shell for my poles and my son's 2 sticks and they...

San Sebastian airport to SJPP 21-8-12

We took a cab from our hotel in San Sebastian to the Train station in France. Hendaya? Is that right? I think it cost about 30 Euro for two of us. But I understand that from the airport there is a bus that goes straight to it for 10 Euro. Either way it only takes a few minutes.

Texas Pilgrims who've walked the Camino Francés

We are also leaving Austin (tomorrow) and starting out on the Camino on April 20th. Got a fair price on a direct on AA from Dallas. Hope to see you there. :)
