How can I get from Pamplona to SJJP? March 2024

I'm having the same dilemma. We need to get to St Jean (from Pamplona ) April 3rd. Train arrives at 2:00 pm so we may have to try a taxi share . I will post a taxi share request once a bit closer to April 3rd if it turns out the bus isn't an option for us. btw , we're counting on having to do...

Yes you can on the monbus website. However the tickets will only become available a few weeks prior to departure date. For example, today you can buy tickets until the end of April only.

Getting from USA to start Camino del Norte

Hi Cindy, Yes direct flight from Miami to Madrid with Air Europa this time but also have done Iberia in the past. I book flights whenever I see a good price. Sometimes months in advance. Check very regularly. Miami is often the cheapest airport to get to Madrid. I never did the North way but...

Planes & Poles … recent revision?

I've always taken my poles from Miami to Madrid in a special cheap bag as checked luggage my previous 5 Camino's. However this year I won't. We were able to book super cheap flights for end of April from Miami to Madrid for $450 round trip . However to check a bag would be $100 each way. Not...

Taxi from Zariquigui to Puenta La Reina?

We took a taxi last year from the top of Alto de perdon to Puenta. Emailed ahead of time to reserve taxi and time . Reason was my husbands Neuropathy and tricky downhill from Alto de perdon. I am pretty sure you can do the same from Zariquiegui .

Trains from Santiago back to Madrid

It's very tight but possible. But personally I wouldn't risk it. I come from the USA and always sleep near Madrid Atocha station to recover from jetlag and take the train the next day to Pamplona.

Trains from Santiago back to Madrid

The Santiago train station is about a 15/20 minute walk from city center. There are several renfe trains leaving for Madrid every day. Just go to the Renfe website and book it online prior to your trip. Renfe puts schedules online several weeks before dates. Sometimes even 3 months. I booked my...

We need to go from Palencia to Santiago in May !!! Due to starting the Camino Finisterre after having walked 2 weeks on the Frances. (yes we would LOVE to be able to stay in Spain many more weeks but every time we go, we only have 3 weeks and will walk parts my husband has never done, The...

Taxi availability (or not )Meseta ???

Were indeed planning on staying the evening in Fromista. So we have all day o walk from Hontanas to Itero de la Vega. If it's horrible weather or any other issues that seem to prevent doing the 20 km that day, we can always stop in Castrojeriz. :) But I WANT to do "the hill" badly :)

Taxi availability (or not )Meseta ???

That hill is exactly the reason that we want to walk beyond Castrojeriz that day. Last time I only saw it from a taxi on our way to Boadilla due to my daughter (who walked with me ) being injured. So we want to walk from Hontanos to at least the top of that hill. (then we leave the Meseta to...

Taxi availability (or not )Meseta ???

Hi . How easy OR difficult is it to get a taxi from Itero de la Vega to Fromista ?( where we will sleep and get on the train the next morning to Palencia ) I'm aware of the availability of taxi's in other area's on the Camino but not the smaller towns in the Meseta.

Is there an early or midday train from Leon to Santiago?

Thanks. You actually gave us great advice last year for the bus route O'Cebreiro to Santiago . We did but..... as I mentioned, it was a terrible experience. Not the ride/bus itself, but no possibility to use a restroom for more then 3 hours, which is an issue for us. (side effect of older age :)...

Is there an early or midday train from Leon to Santiago?

Thanks all for your ideas. We will keep an eye on more direct trains closer to March/April. For now I booked a one way car rental from Leon train station to the Santiago Airport for $64 . No prepayment needed and I can cancel it if a decent train option becomes available.

Is there an early or midday train from Leon to Santiago?

Might be that's just the winter schedule. I hope so. If not we could rent a one way car I think with drop off at the Santiago airport but that would be my last resort solution. We prefer trains. We're walking the Meseta and Camino Finisterra this trip. (We've walked all other sections prior to...

Is there an early or midday train from Leon to Santiago?

I saw the late afternoon one which would get us to Santiago around 11 pm. Not optimal :(

Is there an early or midday train from Leon to Santiago?

I know Renfe doesn't post trains until 2 months or so prior to date needed. But does anyone know if there is a train from Leon to Santiago any time between 8 am and 3 pm end april/early May ? We would consider a bus too but my last experience on a long 3 1/2 hour bus trip along the Camino was...

is there a bus from ponferrada to Santiago airport?

Yes I saw it leaves mid afternoon which is perfect . I bet you were not the only pilgrim lol. We have limited time this year so will have to make choices and walking the last day into Santiago is one of our choices to finish this years trip. The taxi quoted me 210 euro's so the bus fee certainly...

is there a bus from ponferrada to Santiago airport?

That looked the best option so far. Thanks :) That must have been the bus I took 4 years ago. I see you can only book it 2 weeks ahead (which is fine).

is there a bus from ponferrada to Santiago airport?

No luck. When I go to the Freire website they are not running anymore :(
