    Samos start?

I walked from Samos to Barbadelo, and I stopped in Sarria for an early lunch. Then as I left I called in at both churches on the hill to get sellos, and I also called into the monastery (?) right at the top of the hill on the right before walking the last 3km to Barbadelo. There’s also a very...

    Bilbao to SJPDP?

In September 2015 I went from Bilbao to Pamplona by bus, which think it was Autobus La Union, I bought the ticket at the bus station. Two hours to Pamplona, arriving around 3pm, where I put my backpack in a locker and walked into the city (it’s only a few hundred metres) for a glass of wine...

Is this Valid - or would it be cheating?

This was my plan B, but I found myself walking with others and the excitement kicked in and I didn’t want to stop! There’s a bar and shopping centre at the top of the hill at Milladorio where you’d have no problem getting a taxi, it’s still around 7km to the cathedral from there. If you do...

Help needed - getting from Dublin to Estella

I did a similar Camino a few years ago walking a week or so at a time. I’m in England with Heathrow and Bristol as my nearby airports. However I found Bilbao the most convenient airport in Spain to fly into and out of (at least as far as Carrion de los Condos, after that it was Madrid), It’s...

    Logroño to Bilbao

There may also be trains from logrono to Bilbao. It actually takes longer than the bus!

Travel from Heathrow Airport to Logrono, Spain

I've done this. It's very easy. Fly BA to Bilbao, take the airport shuttle to the bus station, then the Alsa bus to Logrono. If you get the 8.20am flight you'll be in Logrono by around 3pm. There are also trains from Bilbao to Logrono, but actually take longer than the bus.

    Transport back to Pamplona

Have you looked at taking a taxi to Logrono if there's no bus? La Estellesa does show buses leaving at 10,00, 13.00, 16.30, 19.00, 20.00 every day, if I read it right without translation...

    Transport back to Pamplona

Hope this helps, looks like there are several options... https://www.rome2rio.com/map/Santo-Domingo-de-la-Calzada/Pamplona

    Going through customs

You might find you have to change terminals at Gatwick (check which you arrive into on Norwegian and then which your flight to Biarritz flies from) and though it's easy enough to get the shuttle between the terminals you need to allow at least half an hour - just for the shuttle transfer. And...

Need travel advice Bilbao to SJPP and Santiago to Bilbao

Here's another way to get from Bilbao to Saint Jean Pied de port - which is what I did: Airport shuttle bus from Bilbao Airport to the central bus station (it's the last stop so you can't miss it). Alsa bus to Pamplona, takes 2 hours. Buy tickets online in advance, or easy to do at the Alsa...

Finalizing plans - any Paris experts?

If you do go to Montparnasse, the 96 bus route is a good one to get around. It takes you up to the river, across to the Ile de la Cite, to Notre Dame and on to le Marais. Here's the Paris bus map, which might be of use to you https://www.ratp.fr/en/plans-lignes/plan-des-bus

    Uk to Biarritz in March

Fly to Bilbao (from Heathrow (BA) or Bristol (EasyJet). I prefer the BA flight as it gets you into Bilbao around 11.30am, giving you enough time to get buses or trains on to your final destination.

    Getting to Sarria from Madrid

Personally I would make a reservation for that first night. You'll be arriving in town after most walking pilgrims so many albergues may already be full, and - it's Sarria, where many others like yourself start their Camino, and may well have made reservations, or have arrived in town before...

    Getting to Sarria from Madrid

<<If we arrive after things are closed and leave before things are open, hiw will we obtain our first stamp? We are arriving in sarria about 6pm on sept 14 to begin in sept 15, bright and early.>> Wherever you stay will have a stamp, get it on your arrival. Next morning, get one at your first...

    Getting to Sarria from Madrid

I did the same as Juspassinthrough. There's a later train around 15,00. I pre-booked tickets and selected seats on www.loco2.com - very easy website to use. Just note that the semi-flexible tickets only allow you to make changes up to the day of travel not actually on the day of travel.

    Bilbao to SJPDP

I've always managed to get from the airport to the bus station in less than 2 hours (and actually be on a bus which leaves 2 hours after my flight arrival time). It's a small airport, and if you're sitting in the front half of the plane it doesn't take long to get through. If you are lucky the...

Help needed figuring out Sarria start

In April my train from Madrid got into Sarria around 7pm. We took a taxi to Barbadelo where I'd booked a room. (I'd already walked as far as Barbadelo on previous stages of my Camino, and my daughter was joining me to walked the last 100km or so.) However - several people were on the same...

    How Long Through the Airport

I was at Chamartin station 3 weeks ago, and there is a Correos there. I can't advise of the opening times, but it could be worth a google search. As others have Madrid Barajas is huge. Even if you fly into T4, it may well be the T4S satellite terminal, which involves a train shuttle to the main...

    Flights from Santiago to London

I flew out of A Coruna to Heathrow at the end of March. It's a really nice small airport. The train and bus stations are less than half a mile apart, and the airport bus is sort of opposite the bus station, across a wide road, next to a garage/petrol station. A little hard to explain, but...
