Before Covid I also intented to take a liner and no sleeping bag. But I have read that there no blankets in the refugio, and because of that I will sure take my sleeping bag.
When you have to carry a tent, that means also a lot of extra weight. I will start at the end of April around Merida, I hope I can sleep always somewhere in a building. I will only take a sleeping bag and a liner.
I will continue my VdlP last half of April 2022 at Aljucén. Due to family-circumstances I had to stop there at april 2020. Because of Covid 2021 didn't feel good to continue.
I can't tell which section was more difficult. I didn't have any problem at all with 24 km average a day. I had to stop at Aljucen because family-circumstances made me do this. Next year I will continu, and I enjoyed every day so much that I can't tell which the favorite section was.
This year I started on 31 March in Sevilla, and I was surely not the only pilgrim. I counted about 20 during my trip from Seville to Aljucen. Next year I will start at Aljucen on 20 April.You may check the post here named: Who walks the VdlP in 2020.

The plans have been changed. This year I started on Via de la Plata in Seville with the intention of stopping 500 km further in Salamanca and then in 2020 from Salamanca to SdC. But after 260 km I had to cancel my trip because my wife needed my support because of her mother's health.
